How is the engine breaking when dropping down a steep long grade and low speeds? I often get into that situation hunting the mountainous states in the West.

I know you mentioned the engine brake. Does it freewheel like the older models at slow speed downhill? Or do you have to stab the throttle to keep the belt engaged?

No freewheeling at all, and no need to stab the throttle. The CVT stays engaged the whole time.

Nice review. i've been thinking about a mule for the ranch and this fills the bill. It is less expensive than I expected for all the features. Are these already at dealers?

How are the new 2024 Pro "FXRs 1000" with Engine and Radiator heat shielding in keeping the seat and cab from getting hot like many other UTVs? Thanks!

It was actually a very noticeable difference over the 810 Mule we have at our lease. The heat shield actually works and deflects heat towards the rear and bottom of the cab so you don't get that radiant heat coming up from the seat like before. We were running these in 100+ degree temps and not once did I feel uncomfortable from heat coming from the engine.
