Without ride by wire, you cannot add a down shifter. The ride by wire allows the ecu to rev match.
@PeterLoweOne7 ай бұрын
I understand that, but they did take some time to re-engineer this bike a little bit. I would have liked to see them add the necessary components to get the up/down quick shifter. It's just interesting that the ZX-4RR has it, and the ZX-10RR has it. So someone moving down from the ZX-10 might be ok with losing features, but when you spend more, compared to the ZX-4RR, I think it's fair for the customer to not have to lose features.

Thats how its done the easier way. There are 2 companies selling solutions to add a auto blip, the price is step and only racing bikes get it 99%of cases.

Another thing they (should have done) when doing the redesign/refresh of the bike would be to factory-install a Steering Dampener. They sell it as an after-market add-on, but seriously - there are so many youtube videos and reddit posts showing these bikes going into tanks slapper / death wobble territory. Definitely a design flaw on the part of Kawasaki - and they should have addressed it by now. The Ohlins steering dampeners are even available to purchase (on the USA Kawasaki site) - so clearly they know about the issue - yet make you buy it as an extra. It should be pre-installed as a safety feature - at the factory.

Is there an option for the ZX6R to pick Brembo brakes from the dealership add on?
@PeterLoweOne7 ай бұрын
Not as a Kawasaki accessory, but a shop could definitely do a Brembo brake upgrade.

As a '21 non-ABS owner I can say this: The stock Nissin brakes with stock rubber tubing will outperform the ability of 95% of all riders. Upgrade to braided and that figure is probably near 99%. These six-pot Nissins are really, really good, and one of the last things you should consider "upgrading".

Does the 40th anniversary come with anything different apart from the paint. Cheers i already have 500 and zx4rr 40th and its going to be either 25 650 krt or zx6r in 40th but I think zx6 is too much for me and with the 650 i could ride with the Mrs easier (500 she'll ride)
@jamesgeorgevellavella19613 ай бұрын
My zx4rr 40th cost $15000 the zx6r 40th they want $18200. I don't know if it's too much bike for me honestly. That's why deposit down for 650 when shipment arrives. What would you do
@amisfitpuivk2 ай бұрын
I would definitely _not_ get a 650 if you already have a 4RR that is better in every way including horsepower. You feel the torque sooner on a 650 but that is the only advantage. It's a downgrade from a 4RR in every other aspect and worse than every other twin 650 by a lot of metrics. I can't tell by the way you worded it, but if you don't have a 4RR and are starting out, it is a great bike to start on. I was scared to start on a ZX6R and I'm glad I went with a ZX4RR. It doesn't scare me at all anymore and I'd be comfortable trying a 6R, but I just don't need it. The 4RR is great and has plenty of go when you want it. It was great to learn on

Pete, I'm going to order one these bikes. I've test rode one and love the low end/ mid range power. I'd like an aftermarket exhaust on it to save some weight. Would putting an akrapovic end can and link pipe on change the character of the bike much?

Is the 4xr and the 6xr same riding postion? Want the most upright/less lendfoward position on a sport bike.
@PeterLoweOne7 ай бұрын
The Ninja 650 would be the most upright. The ZX-4RR is in between, it's not as aggressive as this bike, but more than the Ninja 650. Other bikes that have a completely different look, that you might want to consider for upright riding positions are the Versys 650, the Z900RS and the Z650RS. All of those are very upright bikes, but still quite sporty to ride.

The ABS (KIBS) is horrible. It's one of the reasons I got rid of my 22 ZX-6R. Bought a ZX-10R and made sure it didn't have ABS. Kawasaki is the only manufacturer that can't get ABS right. The crappy cams are what we have come to, Suzuki was forced to ruin the Gen 3 Busa the same way. All to pass Euro 5 emissions. You get a torquey bottom end now to fool you into thinking the bike is fast, just like those stupid parallel twin pseudo sport bikes that everyone seems to be selling now. Kawasaki is building this bike to a price, hence no emu, no two way quick shifter, but they did replace the antique dash. Still a decent bike, but compromised.
