I have one as my daily car and i absolutely love it's tech, instant power delivery, handling, awd grip in all weather etc. what's even better is i get free charge at work and if i have to charge it at home it costs £1 to £2 full charge using cheap night rate and a bit of solar. I don't even drive my mid engined porsche as often now as this M3P is fun.

Did a test drive of this car today and I really liked it a lot. Really comfortable and the acceleration in Insane mode is absolutely brilliant, couldn't stop grinning. Some would complain about the indicators being on the steering wheel instead of a stalk, but after about 10-15 minutes driving it actually felt quite natural. Definitely considering putting an order in for the Performance version

I recently got me a 2024 m3p to utilise as a daily and It's got to be the best out there. From my home to my office, there isn't any better car to daily commute with all the tech and ease of driving. Unfortunately here in Sydney, Australia - We dont get FSD, only a temu version of it as our Government wont allow it however, its good enough. I highly recommend test driving one for you to understand how good the car is.

Great video! But one point, how can the model 3 performance be so expensive in the UK? It’s like 40%+ more expensive than the price in my country. So to us it’s a great deal. Not just okay. The EQE53 as compared is more than 4 times the cost of the Model 3 Performance here.

Of course you need it, even if you dont go max speed you can legally do rollercoaster feeling up to legal speed. But the strength of the 2024 3P is that its got good sound insulation, its got better seats with heat pump for cooling too and you have a quicker steering rack. The efficciency is also great, so is the adaptive dampers which make the car a joy to drive even on slow driving. The car I would say is very good and at the cost it is a steal! I have some dragracing videos of the 2024 3P on 1/8 mile on youtube and on instagram. Did win against cars like Corvette C8 on slicks, Camaro ZL1 on slicks, BMW i40 M5 etc. Pulled away from them quite easy, had low 1.7 60 feet times. Since it was ET7.7 races I had to brake a lot towards goal. I also did good in autocross with it, on stock wheels. But next year I will go with square wheels for autoslalom to try to do even better. This variant is much better for autoslalom than the older 3P was, as the new one has a softer front swaybar and stiffer rear bar, this makes it more prone to oversteer, then you can point it where you want and accellerate. So its quite good in the handling department, but you have to push it much harder than you would imagine, around the cones. Especially in wet around cones it did surprise me quite a lot.

I agree totally, I love my modified 2016 Mustang, absolute killer looks and power that you feel part of. But for just going around town and down the crowded expressways on the weekend to see the girlfriend would love to pick up a M3P and enjoy it for said uses and keep the Mustang for other uses.

"Is there a market for performance EVs?" I think that's a fair question to ask. I think the answer is yes. Not a huge one, but it's there. Plenty of UK reviewers have questioned the point of having something this quick. I get it; for the vast majority of UK drivers, opportunities to _use_ the power are few and far between. Most UK reviewers have suggested that they'd opt for the Long Range AWD instead, as it's still bloody quick while being more comfortable, more efficient, and £10k less expensive. Now, obviously, you'll always get the speed nuts who want the fastest thing they can afford. Personally, I can attest that planting my right foot going from a 20 to a 60 is more grin-inducing in the Performance compared to the AWD, but I probably wouldn't have paid £10k for that. And yet, I have one on the way, because it's not _just_ faster. Before the facelift, the Performance had the same chassis setup, and the same seats, as the other specs. And that was a problem. You got the straight line speed, and the responsive steering, and it was good fun to thread down a twisty country road. But the suspension held it back, as it never settled down, especially on crappier surfaces. And the seats offered little lateral support, which made it uncomfortable to use its copious grip around a bend. I personally found that the chassis and suspension improvements in the facelifted Performance completely transform it on those twisty roads. The dampers do an excellent job of keeping the car in contact with crappy surfaces without feeling underdamped and unsettled. It feels far more confident and composed during fast cornering. And now the seats give enough lateral support such that it's not uncomfortable to use some of that grip. To me, it was fantastic engaging fun to drive on country roads, even without doing stupid speeds or using all the power. Especially with Tesla's throttle mapping. Petrolheads bemoan the lack of noise, but the throttle is linear and ridiculously responsive, and I find it very engaging to feel that level of control over the power output. Then you get to town, and it's calm, relaxing, low-effort, and it isn't obnoxiously shouting to the world that it's a performance car. Or you get on the motorway and, while it's not as good as the Long Range, it's still very quiet, comfortable, has plenty of range, and access to the Supercharger network. Then you get home, plug it in, charge on a cheap overnight tariff, and it costs 2p a mile in electricity. It won't suit everyone. But I do think it's a fantastic do-it-all car. No, it doesn't excel at everything, and yes, in isolation, I'd rather take something like a Lotus out on a twisty country road (or especially on a track), but that's not a viable proposition for many - and, as much as the comparison is overdone, that's why there's a market for BMW M cars.
@GoksCarLoungeАй бұрын
Thanks for the insights :) yea I hear what you are saying. I wonder if manufacturers would see the ROI in building these super saloons in the long run. As you said it's not a huge market. Really enjoyed my time with it regardless.

The performance doesn't have optional wheels. It comes with 20" wheels only. The car displays EPA range at 303 miles which is much closer to reality. At 70mph on a motorway I get 270 miles on a full charge.
@GoksCarLounge2 ай бұрын
Ah yes you’re right. Is EPA different to WLTP?
@rossadamdixon2 ай бұрын
@@GoksCarLoungeyes the EPA range is the test cycle used in USA. It's stricter and more accurate in the real world, hence why Tesla uses this in car to indicate range. It must use WLTP on its website if you are in Europe or other regions that use this cycle.
@GoksCarLounge2 ай бұрын
@@rossadamdixon yea wltp sucks. We don’t have another cycle such as the EPA. Because 328 (wltp) to what I got is a big discrepancy! Thanks for watching from across the pond!

@@GoksCarLounge I'm in the UK. The reason I know about this is because I have the new MP3 and I didn't understand why my range was displaying as less than indicated. The car does explain the range cycles to you within the energy options in the car.

Secondly you don't need to go to a Tesla center - they come to you . 80% of maintenance and repairs can be done by a Tesla Rover. Thirdly the car is entirely run by a high performance computer. Service data is available on screen by any owner. Parts and manuals are available on line.
