Thanks for this great video and the install instructions. I installed last night on a late 2023 MYLR. It works fantastic. I love having directions in front and the list of turns shown on my phone at the same time. The install was smooth except for three things. First my MYLR has an AMD processor with a white ODB port not blue as in this video and all others. Second, I had a lot of trouble passing the camera wire through the firewall. I first poked a hole through the rubber gasket that’s on the right but could not get the camera through the tight space. I was able to just push it through the right edge instead. It went just behind the glovebox and I was able to pull it over and out. I used white electrical tape which made the wire easier to locate. Third I found the steering wheel plate difficult to remove and to attach the new one. I accidentally snapped off a prong on the new cover because it didn’t line up perfectly and I pulled it off to retry. Hope this helps others with their install! It’s well worth the effort.

This is the best OEM like display. However, it’s missing two vital components. The autopilot “nag” needs to be on the display, as does the blind spot warning. If those two alerts are missing, then my eyes need to shift between the center display and the main display.

Still considering installing classic USS PDC to my TMY. For rear use, it is easy to use reverse light signal trigger. Front is tricky to trigger, but this device has the logic inside - would it be possible to use the camera power source cable to also source/trigger front mounted PDC in the bumper? Is the camera activated by sourcing its voltage?

The reason I didn’t do the actual installation for the front camera because I don’t usually have the display for that long. When the new display comes which I have to test it out might not have compatible camera or use the same cable which I would have to uninstall it over and over again. The issue with all of these is that they don't change the UI on the main screen... if you were able to actually move the road display / speedometer to this instead of the main display then it would be something to consider.

Looks great! Will look great with my yoke. Will be nicer if they make some UI upgrades: (1) add Model Y icon option, which I saw the company has said would be available in a month; (2) use OEM fonts; (3) offer US speed limit appearance; and (4) adopt the OEM turning signal icons, as the green shade on with black and white arrows blinking. Also hope the vendor sees this comment XD.

I like this one alot. But I could not see any right/left blind spot light up at all, does this not have the blind spot red lights? Also, i could not see very well, do the brake tailights light up when you use brake pedal on the small car display tailights? I really like that feature to see my brake lights easily light up due to the one pedal driving i think its great to know exactly when brake lights are coming on. Cheers!

You may have seen my comment before about the 3 day wait period before the item gets shipped out. Well, they more than made up for it. Once it was shipped it only took 2 days from Hong Kong to my home in Atlanta. Wow. The video really helped the installation which only took maybe 40 mins? Really easy if you are handy with stuff like this. The only issue is, one of the tabs broke off the plastic piece that is above the steering wheel. You can't really tell it broke off but i am going to ask they send me a new part. That all said, THIS THING IS REALLY AWESOME!!! Way better than I was expecting. Really great graphics and carplay works way better than I was expecting. Easily worth the price. Tesla really should make this standard equipment or offer it as an option. I am sure some people would pay $1000 for it to be an option so doing it yourself is just a great deal at 1/4 of that price.

I have tested a few displays and non of the after market displays have that function because I don’t think Tesla allow to access the cameras feed on the car. I have tested F9 with bottom built-in air vent which is the same position as T8 Pro before I think top airflow is better than bottom air. Also this display sit further out from the air vent which give more room the air pass through the top compare to T8 pro. This is the reason why I pick this one to test and not T8 Pro. I like the T8 much better than T8 pro or F9 because F9 and T8 Pro has bottom built-in air vent which in my opinion get less air flow than T8 which is low enough for the top air flow to get through to the driver. My experience with this display I only had to connect to car speakers once by charging output of CarPlay on my phone then after that it will output to car speakers every time. Good screen but functionality is limited compare to the other dashboard screen. They need to update the software to include other display items, then it would be worth it. Right now the price is a bit high for what it does/does not do/show.

I believe they will ship to Malaysia but I don’t know any shop there that would be able to help you with installation. I don’t think this display is too complicated to do it yourself. You just have to follow the instructions from the video. The only part that might be challenging to install is the front camera. It if you don’t need front camera then it should be fine.

Be aware, these come from Hong Kong and after ordering, it could take a few days before they get shipped out. So you have to exercise patience, which I am not good at. They don't appear to have product in stock and might to be a middleman taking pre-orders and then they buy from a supplier. they do send tracking info after it has shipped via DHL.

Masking tape is terrible for permanent installation, especially in a sometimes-hot location. HVAC tape (the aluminum stuff) or Kapton/polyimide tape would be much better.

The reason why I suggested masking tape because it will at least stay until you decide to remove the dashboard and if you have to sell the car and have to remove the display then it will much easier to do without leaving and mess behind. Your review made me buy this and just installed it. It is a pretty nice unit but have one issue. It is displaying speed and range in kilometers vs miles. Im in the US so need miles, but cannot figure out how to change in the settings? Anyone else have this issue?

Update: Got mine yesterday and installed it today. It looks great with the Yoke. ⚠NOTE FOR YOKE OWNERS: if you got the Yoke from Tesstudio or Hanshow (not sure if other Yokes have the same problem or all Yokes are made by the same company actually), due to the design of the Yoke, the bottom of which is closer to the steering wheel base comparing to the distance between the stock steering wheel bottom and the base, it's very hard to take off that piece of cover to be replaced, because the cover has a margin of approximately 3mm folding in. I can't post a picture so I'm trying my best to describe the situation. I had to try prying the yoke out a little bit to take the cover off. And it's even harder to put the replacement cover with the display attached back to the steering wheel base. It took me over one hour to finally get this part done. In total around two hours as I had to remove the F9 first. But the result is great. Looks much much better than the F9, and airflow passes much easier. F9 just does not give you the airflow as expected. So I suppose T8 pro will not give you better airflow than the "non-pro" one, and the airflow tunnel just does not look good. Can't wait for the update with Model Y graphics. And really hope they add US speed limit icon and stock fonts.
