its not that a v6 hybrid biturbo isnt the future of motor racing. GT3s should be hybrids too honestly, i dont like that aston went full combustion cause these cars are incredibly efficient when paired to the electric motors, and caddy proved it works on heavy NA engines

Not only is Aston Martin coming back to prototype racing for the first time since 2011 and they were the last ones to ever use a prototype car with a V12 of the B09/60. The Valkyrie should have a whole lot more success then the short lived AMR-One but can't wait to see it at Watkins Glen in person🎉.

I don't think it will succeed. It's only ICE and RWD compared to big manufacturers with AWD and hybrid. Best case scenario will be as fast as the 9x8

We’ll see. I hope you’re wrong, but I do accept there’s a higher chance of it being uncompetitive, especially in the first season. But the BOP is meant to help with the weight situation.

@coyy9106 The BOP is interesting and is only effective if a manufacturer hasn't put an update on their race car or used one of the jokers they are entitled to use. If they have used a joker to update the car then the BOP parameters need to get reset because the governing body needs to retest the car with the joker in a wind tunnel 😂

Going to be very interesting to see how reliable it will be and how high it revs. I guess it won't rev as high as the road version. Would be shocking though.

Back when they used to run regular engines in top class endurance racing, they always had to drop the revs a lot to make them not eat themselves, and the more pistons you add, the more it wants to do that. That was an issue when Peugeot tried to get into F1 in the 90s, hot off their Le Mans success, and found that their successful low-revving engines fell flat in races that didn't last beyond two hours. I wouldn't be surprised if a quiet advantage of the hybrids is that you can run less pistons, and that generally the other stuff tends to be more reliable due to how much higher the failure rate is per piston.

WEC is going to be crazy next year, just wish they'd stop fixing it BOP, truly reward good engineering and force the mediocre ones to level up, or set a performance threshold, minimum weight, maximum PU output with combustion to hybrid ratios, 1 homologated aero kit, etc

There is already a prescribed requirement of i think it was 4-1 downforce to drag coefficient & max power output of 700 hoursepower & 1030 kg minimum weight but each car has different strengths still(eg ferrari's straightline speed & porsche's medium to high speed cornering)
