That's sorted with a silent fix, even a new part number on the heads. It was a manufacturing process defect and not a true design defect. It was fixed once they figured it out. I think the biggest question is what you are getting more over the KTM for $1300 US MSRP? Both *pilens don't make sense to me over KTM. Sure, it looks better and has a little bit better tech package, but for that price no quick shift other than as an option? Seems widely overpriced compared to a cheaper XSR900 that has an IMU and quick shifter blipper standard (and 20 more hp with just a little bit more weight.) Plus, you have a grenade proof motor in the CP3. I want to love Husky naked bikes, but can't.

Theres also the niggling doubt re longevity given KTMs recent issues with their Cams so as a big fan of the purity of design that characterised MK1 versions (stayed very faithful to the prototype show bikes) I cant say I'm sold on these...

I am wondering when KTM is going to address the Cheese Cams they have been using in all of their parallel twins. I keep hoping to find some good news....
@orange16663 ай бұрын
They don’t have cheese cams and never did have , some bikes have suffered oil starvation issues which caused damage to some cam lobes , the majority of bikes have been trouble free and there are many high mileage examples with over 50k and no issues . There is no doubt there has been an issue for whatever reason and I am sure after all the negative publicity it has been resolved on the latest bikes or models going forward - they have put 4 year warranty on all 24 models so customers should have a little peace of mind , if the problem does not show itself by the first valve service it’s unlikely to ever .
@thebrowns53373 ай бұрын
They only honor the 4 year warranty if every services is done at a KTM main dealer though. Where costs are huge and the mechanics might not care. My one man local independant mechanic is amazing, has to know a lot about bikes as he sess all brands from all ages, and he has to get it right as he cannot afford bad reviews. He even lets people sit in and watch if they want! He explains what he's dojng, why, how to check things... I'd trust him to give a KTM the best chance of being trouble free way more than I trust an undervalued main dealer mechanic in a company that doesn't seem to care about customer reviews.
