I was just at the Sydney EV show and the stars of the show were the 2 Zeeker left hand drive cars. There was a huge crowd around them and a lot of really positive comments. The carbon detail was out of this world beautiful. Beautiful interiors, great features and performance that is simply out of this world. they have made it to the absolute top of my shortlist when I buy my first electric car next year…If I know that the 001FR is coming…or it’s baby brother, the 001, I’ll wait for it.

Geely make some impressive cars. Volvo, Polestar, Smart, Zeekr, Lotus etc. I have the sister car to the Zeekr X & Volvo EX30 the Smart #1 Brabus, I’ve had it for 13 months now. It’s my forever car I will never sell it. ❤

I love the look of these. I'd certainly consider one over a Tesla except for one thing, the Supercharger network. The non-Tesla UK charging network is absolutely dire, and doesn't seem to be getting any better. How can all of these brands be selling cars in the UK without being mandated to contribute to the charging network? Something needs to change if EVs are going to take off in the UK.
@johngonon150722 күн бұрын
Any EV can use the Tesla network. I don't understand your comment about contributing to the charging network. You mean that Toyota should finance petrol stations ? Tesla decided to do both cars and charging ... and solar roofs and storage for grid/homes, etc ... Not everyone wants to diversify like that.

They need to slash the price by 25% in Australia too. The Zeekr X is a great car, but small and not worth $60k. Even $49,990 driveaway would do ok.
@technovelodos22 күн бұрын
Yep, was thinking they've killed sales in Oz until there is a price drop. Their current pricing is not that competitive , considering they are a new entrant to the market and need to provide a significant price advantage over a model Y (currently the best selling EV in Oz).

If they can sell it mid-40's they might get a lot of takers. I think Aussies are very scared of brands like Zeekr and Xpeng.
@surfer123au22 күн бұрын
For feature parity in AU you would need the 4k upgrade for the Zeekr X vs the G6. And the G6 is still the larger car. While the X is quite a bit more expensive vs the G6 at current prices. Expect price drops within the first year in AU. Other sharply priced Chinese EVs coming to Australia in 2025. Likely to see MG ES5 and Galaxy E5. Not the same type of car, but they are all competing for our cash. 😉

Zeekr is the upmarket brand of Geely and it has four model lines; to be expanded to eleven in the next three years. Given that Zeekr has just hit 25,000 cars per month it is unlikely that any of its car lines is selling more than 10,000 per month. Such low volumes means that no ‘economy of scale’ has been achieved and therefore Zeekr is losing massive amounts of money on every car it makes. This haemorrhaging of cash cannot go on for much longer and the proverbial is going to hit the fan.

Its too expensive in Australia. Xpeng G6 LR with 87.5 kwh should be the better buy though I am expecting Australia to see avalanche of these cars launching. Geely EX5 should be way cheaper and better buy as well.

Just out of curiosity. You get any form of compensation from Chinese Manufacturers/ EV companies? Nothing wrong with that but it should be disclosed. Cheers.

The Chinese companies seems to be better at keeping social media reviewers happy. But I suspect the main reason is that most new EV developments are in China except for Tesla.

This will inevitably be the end of this channel unfortunately. Electric Viking on some videos claims he receives nothing from either the EV manufacturers he plugs or the guys that installed his solar but on other videos he says he gets a little bonus. He also offers outright financial advice, doesn't even try to hide it. He's flying too close to the sun and don't think it will end well for the channel.

The day we some of these Chinese prices for consumers outside China, I'll eat my hat. If you take a Chinese price of X, what does it cost the user on the road, driving out of dealer? X plus what percent?
In Europe it costs around 50k euros! BTW, do you know why chinese car companies are obsessed with frameless door windows? From what I read/hear, that decreases the insonorization of the car, so why make ALL cars like that? I mean, it only makes the car look better when the doors are open, so what's the point...?
@johngonon150722 күн бұрын
