The free charger option isn't showing up for me anymore. I think it has expired 😭 Also what is your recommendation for an EV now that there are a few sales on and why? (Great idea for a vid) Tossing up between the Xpeng G6, Model 3 RWD/AWD (3k lease discount) or a BYD of some sort. Or have I missed something else worth looking at?

Thanks Sam for another excellent video. I love the Zeekr 7X. I live in Amsterdam and The Netherlands is one of the few markets in Europe that Zeekr is active in. I really hope they bring the 7X here. The 001 is selling quite well here, I see more and more of them on the road. I'm considering getting one myself.

Zeekr is nice, the only shortcoming of this brand is that Zeekr cars are overly concern on the passive safety design make them very heavy, this reduces the car's energy performance.

Same, I'm pretty surprised by some of the build quality we've been getting out of the Chinese - and they've gone through the fire with their markets - so many EV companies in China. Looks like Zeekr is coming out on top. Great car.

While you are in Zeekr you should also try out the Mix! I was in the Zeekr shop and I was impressed by how good the 7X was for the price. You can get a version with a decent sized TV in the right rear seat. I believe there is a foot rest upgrade that allows a reclining passenger seat but not 100% sure. So fast, excellent quality, amazing charge speed, 3.6 seconds to 100, air suspension and it’s about 30k USD. I’m so sad to hear the star gate front lights don’t work. Was amazing to be able to right messages on the car or draw pictures that are shown when the car is parked.

Due to value and incredible charge speed, EV's like this represent the beginning of the end for iCE. Cars with even sub-10 minute charge times are coming too. it's now just a matter of having the infrastructure in place to support the charging speed. If this car was available in America today without tariffs, or similar spec car by a local competitor for similar price, with infrastructure already in place, it would be the most popular car of any type.

Over the past three decades, China has built more than 1,000 coal-fired power plants as its economy has grown more than 40-fold. The country has become by far the largest annual emitter of greenhouse gases in the world. Last year, China for the first time passed Europe as the second-largest historical emitter

I don’t understand why Chinese auto groups (like Geely) have so many sub brands, especially when they seem fairly similar. For example: Lynk & Co and Zeekr. Polestar is struggling to find its place in the luxury / sport segment. Lotus is already there. Arcfox? BYD also has a handful of seemingly overlapping brands. It seems confusing and inefficient from a brand marketing and distribution POV. For example Toyota has 2 brands. They had a third (Scion) and phased it out. GM has eliminated over half of their brands. Ford eliminated. Can anyone shed light on why Chinese groups are proliferating brands?
@wenleiquan14034 күн бұрын

I keep wondering why EV makers don't make models with purposely SMALL (lighter, cheaper) battery packs, for those who seldom or never drive far. Many of us drive fewer than 50 miles a day, and fly if we travel. A modest model with short range but enough power for freeway speeds would sell like crazy. Think about it; how many of your viewers would buy one?
@WANDERER00704 күн бұрын

Most people seem to follow what the masses are saying, they should have more range. I was in that camp however, my thinking was from a younger ICE driver perspective. When i was younger I could do the NY to DC run in 4 hours, with no stops for bathroom breaks or food. Had to put things in perspective, when traveling with others, I had to stop at least once and that extended my travel time. Using that as a measure in my older years, 2 hours was a good stopping point, which could end up being 120-140 miles. The 222 mile range of the Audi e-tron was fine especially with chargers about 60-80 miles apart, for a road trip from Arizona to California, plenty of time to rest, relax and get some food, while it charged. The fact that I was realistic of the fact that road trips were maybe twice a year and the normal commute to work and travel around town I would be fine with the range made me fine with the range, though not the price. $20K off MSRP, putting in the range of what I would be paying to upgrade to a newer model Stinger GT, in addition to the fuel savings, rebate from power company, low charging rates, EV plates that let me use HOV lanes, plus I was getting a good deal on the Stinger trade, which meant no money out of pocket (except first lease payment), that sealed the deal. The Zeekr 7X in top trim is better equipped than the top level Audi Q8 e-tron and cost a lot less, the build quality seem similar and I would expect this as they are pretty much using Volvo level of build quality. I wouldn't mind having one but, not sure if it is coming to Malaysia and if it did, they would pull out a lot of features to keep the price low to compete, which would be fine as even the lower trim is well equipped. I've seen the Zeekr X, but i'm not a fan of the rear cabin space and cargo room however, it is really well built, the Volvo EX30 should have its level of equipment. Hopefully, soon we will see more lower priced (outside of China) EV that will get people to feel comfortable with making the switch, also an upgrade of charging infra structure in countries that are lagging.

BYD seagull, $ 9,900 in China, range is 270 kilometres... My daily drive to work and back is only 28 km, I would buy it if it was available in Australia. My old BMW cost me 4k in repairs at the mechanic a while ago...
