Great first look at the 2026 GV70! I’m hoping that Genesis will rethink their plans for the electrification of their fleet, especially here in the USA. Electric cars are not selling well here but I think that a hybrid could make it. The 2025 GV80 is just starting to hit the showrooms here and the MPG is pretty sorry especially with the need for premium fuel. I’m in the market and will probably go with the ‘25 GV80 but if there’s going to be a hybrid 2026 version, I’d definitely wait for it to arrive on our shores. Thank you for your hard work on this Mari & Crew!

Another great review. Always giving accurate bullet points on the important details of the car. I love this channel for the fact that I get an advanced look at Korean brand cars that will eventually come to the united states. My only suggestion is if when comparing old models to new ones, is to put side by side pictures instead of before and after ones shots. Side by side images will be easy to compare and contrast instead of having to jump back and forth to view photos. Other than that, again, another great review!

After carefully examining the planned exterior and interior "changes" on the 2026 GENESIS GV70, all I can say is I am glad we bought our first generation 2024 GENESIS GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige. The elongated front of the 2026 GV70 looks like a BLAND TOYOTA Highlander, CAMRY, etc. All of the SPORTY, AGGRESSIVE design cues of the first generation, tat make it so visually appealing are neutered! It now looks like a generic family mobile. Love them, or hate them the 21 inch patterned rims on the first GENESIS GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige are DISTINCTLY UNIQUE! They are like nothing else on the market from ANY manufacturer. And I for one love the design. I have gotten so many unsolicited complements on how great our GV70 looks. Not once has anyone ever commented on not liking the rims... Not once. This is not the case with the new 2026 rims... they are bland, boring HONDA looking rims. They are not unique at all. But are just like what many manufacturers have been doing for years. Again, they lack STYLE elements unique to the GENESIS LUXURY SPORT BRAND. As for the rear of the 2026 GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige. The designers got rid of the large, SPORTY, round exhaust tips and replaced them with generic "mommy tips" found on every BORING, family suv from TOYOTA, HONDA, LEXUS, MAZDA, ETC... Again, the UNIQUE, SPORTY GENESIS DESIGN CUES ARE MISSING! If I wanted a TOYOYA, HONDA, LEXUS, MAZDA, That is what I would buy, not a 2026 GENESIS GV70. But I didn't, I wanted a 2024 GENESIS GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige specifically because it was, and is UNIQUELY, and STYLISHLY DIFFERENT! Regarding the interior of the 2026 GENESIS GV70. I have only one criticism. The HUGE, design less, all inclusive, HYUNDAI digital dashboard is TASTELESS and TACKEY. It also doesn't integrate well at all with the rest of the interior. It looks like a giant afterthought. Where as the existing first generation digital dashboard is seamlessly integrated into the design cues, and flow of the entire GV70 interior cabin. Even the existing additional rectangular infotainment screen tastefully fits within the interior design of the first generation GV70. With the 2026 redesign, it looks like GENESIS INTENSIONALLY got rid of most of the Sport elements from the "Sport Prestige" in order to "upsell" people wanting a truly SPORT designed GENESIS to their upcoming GENESIS GV80 Sport Coup, or where available their GENESIS GV70 MAGMA line. Both of which cost substantially more than the existing first generation 2022 - 2025 GENESIS GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige.

As a Lexus owner (RC350 AWD), I have to admit that Genesis will beat Lexus at their own game. While Lexus is going through its identity crisis (not sure if they are premium/Lux or sporty), Genesis have been very focused on premium luxury. Who knows, my next car just might be GV70? Great review BTW.

Good review. It's a timeless design. Reminds me of a 2006-2012 Lexus GS if it was designed as an SUV. Architecture with round, soft corners stand the test of time.

I test drove the 2025 gv80 today because it has the 27” screen and I’m considering purchasing a 2026 gv70 with the 27” screen. I wanted to see for myself how it’s going to look. Once behind the wheel, the first word that came to my mind was “unobtrusive.” Actually, it is very nice and does not look like an afterthought at all. I’m going to have mine built and delivered, hopefully, a year from now.

I like the amber rear turn signals! As it should be! However, that probably won't make it to the US that way. Automakers like to not give us the rear amber signals even though they make it for other markets. Just because we don't have the mandate as other countries shouldn't mean we still don't get it. I'm still very much waiting for the GV80 coupe to get to the US!! Most likely will be my next vehicle.

I like that Genesis keeps improving their vehicles with updated tech and interiors, I do dislike though that the went the German route for interior space, when they Germans have started to add more passenger space. Now they need to build an EV version on an dedicated EV platform.

I am not liking anything about this facelift. I never cared for the front lower trim in the first place, with its black plastic diamond pattern, which includes the duct covers. These are hard to keep clean. And now they want to make it even bigger??? I do like the fact that they have removed that same pattern from the rear lower trim around the exhaust ports and made it smooth. The 27" LED dash screen is so ugly compared to the older model. I love the built-in dashboard, like my 2018 G90. I do like the new steering wheel being touch sensitive rather than needing a hard grip. But, they didn't address the control knob and drive selector positioning, where everyone grabbed the wrong knob to control the screen. This was one of the biggest issues reported from customers and reviewers. These need to change places. While your arm is resting on the center console, you shouldn't have to reach to control your infotainment. Reaching for the drive selector makes so much more sense, since you only do that when you first get going, or select reverse. Genesis could remove silly features like remote smart parking assist and fingerprint authentication that are slow, don't work well and are basically gimmicks. Instead add HUD and rear heated seats as standard.
