New 20GB Update Dropped & New Game Plus Details for Cyberpunk 2077

We talk about the new Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.62 that released today along with the crazy features that it introduced as well as new game plus and what the developers said about new game plus plus more Cyberpunk news.
The new update brought us the new Overdrive Mode (path tracing) as well as other features that make the game look incredible and perform even better. Overdrive mode is a pretty crazy feature despite most players not being able to use it, sadly making a good portion of update 1.62 (at least the Overdrive mode with path tracing) useless to anyone without a 40 series GPU. I think they're making a mountain out of a molehill in regards to new game plus. For the start of the game before the arasaka heist your only allowed in a certain part of the city with restrictions to cyberware because of your low level. Just have that still be the case. Our skills carry over but all of our weapons and vehicles and fancy cyberware are in a locked cache until we complete the first heist. Then a message comes up telling you that you can access all your stuff back at your apartment so head there. Vehicles purchases only need to be made once and should follow the same rule, we get them once we completed the heist with jackie. Level cap is fine we don't need to level up to broken levels just the ability to be able to enjoy the campaign as many times as we'd like is fine. Even if were capped at 50 and no longer gain xp thats fine. I just wanna be able to enjoy the story in perpetuity.

Here's how they can do it 1. Unlock it after "The Heist" 2. Give everything to us (because this is a SINGLE PLAYER game without multiplayer), and make enemies harder 3. Let us keep the skill tree from last time Here's what they should do if they aren't doing NG+ 1. Update the skill tree so you can max out everything, because for some reason you cant max it, even tho other games have done it (Ex: Borderlands) 2. Have missions replayable with the stuff you got If games in ps2 have NG+, and if games like Elden Ring have 7NG+, then it should be bare minimum to CDPR

At least allow attribute points to be respec’d AFTER completing the campaign … OR raise the level cap and allow us to keep earning attributes. I didn’t max any skill branch on my first run and so was screwed for lots of cool perks and abilities requiring a full restart of the game.

I feel like ng+ should skip anything that might break it like the scene with vik that they mention and focus mostly on difficulty, I think for the most part everyone just wants the ability to replay the game on a higher difficulty without grinding for their favorite builds every time.

Yep exactly. New Game + is only ever about being an over-powered badass so I'd even be happy if New Game + ONLY reset side missions, gigs and ncpd hustles which are all designed to be campaign independent anyway, for the most part.

Personally, I’d love if the cyberware you used changed your character’s appearance. Obviously toggle-able, but just more robotic aesthetics to compliment the type of character you have based on the gear.

The lack of NG+ honestly isn't even the main issue for Cyberpunk 2077. Where it falls short for me, is if you complete all the Gigs and Side Quests, you reach the point of no return and there really isn't anything to do other than... The last mission over and over. It's such a big world but it's so empty at times. No side activities to do like minigames, survival arena, boxing exhibitions, random events (I know there are some but I feel like in an entire playthrough I might see 1 or 2 cop chases), etc. Hell it doesn't even have radiant quests to help you at least keep busy with a character that's done it all. You can go around and kill random people and enjoy a cop system that's terribly broken and can just decide to say "oh you're not wanted anymore" out of nowhere, or kill random gang members around which is only a few guys. NG+ wouldn't fully fix this issue, but at least it would give people something to do with those completed characters

For me I want for the next update to this game is, New Game+, more levels for my character, new clothing, weapons and vehicle and other stuff we get so little off in the current game. In other words more cool stuff and DLCs that will keep us playing this game for a long time to come. Also if there is a New Game +, I hope I can redo my character so I can play V differently with one of the other backstories and I get you keep everything I have eared before.

You can get the double jump as soon as you go to Vic's, provided you have enough money. While time consuming, it's possible. So... Just make it so V doesn't have Cyberware during the Sandra Dorsett mission. That way they don't have gorilla arms or anything, optical camo, nothing. And then after you get the kiroshi and ballistic compressor, you can put on all your favourites no problem. Pretty simple if you ask me...

Ps5 player here and I couldn't agree more about wanting to respec the attributes I've had, to have the full experience of this game. Making it really repetitive at times, I've had to resort to making several save files at key moments of the game with each major background just to make sure I can mix it up enough but doing that is obnoxious.

The witcher 3 ng+ was way more difficult to implement imo the mutagen, potions, weapon saddles all carry over plus the dialog with some of the skills so it is 100% possible.

If we couldn't get a NG+ feature i would at the least like a Mission Replay system. My biggest issue with Cyberpunk is spending the entire game leveling up and building a character only to get to the end and have nothing that really shows how powerful your build is. No large gunfights left, No major fist fights left, No real reason to continue with that character (time to start a new game) If i could take my fully levelled character and murder my way through Arasaka tower over and over i'd be content.

Can't wait for this update, a new game plus is what i have long been waiting for so I can finish the different endings with my current build. Though I kind of wish that at least they up the max level cap that way it might be possible to max out all of your attributes, or if not put in a attribute reset mechanic like the perk point reset, that way you can be able to apply yourself to different builds of your choosing without having to start a new game and grind yourself to that build you desire. That would make the game alot more fun in my opinion, but to probably balance the game out it would only be available during your first new game plus campaign. Nonetheless, I can't wait for this update and dlc, and I hope that the new game plus update does become a reality.

Also, if you beat the game, on ng+ you should be able to do things early that you weren’t able to do on the 1st run, the whole point of a ng+ is that it’s the ultimate reward for beating the game

I said this before that I personally feel that the New Game Plus feature will not be available til sometime next year do to the fact not only is it complicated to make but CDPR is working on other game titles not to mention the fact that Phantom Liberty is supposedly bigger then the main story & with CDPR supposedly also working on 200 new gigs, multiple romance options & new weapons & new cars & new apartments I mean come on guys there's no way all this will be ready this year but I do believe they will release some things this year like a DLC that gives us new cars & new weapons & new apartments & some new gigs but as far as the major stuff like a new game plus & multiple romances & even Phantom Liberty itself I wouldn't get my hopes up til the end of this year or the middle of next year.

It might be easier to reset everything but add a new difficulty that can be unlocked called expert and another one called pro and the last one called ledgend. Increasing level cap would add more attributes. Releasing attribute limits and the potential for more unique perks. There are perks that are useless that can be replaced. For example infinite stamina yo run is useless. Also adding more customization options like body types that you see in the game and more npc faces because so many look the same. A decal option for weapons, cars and cyberware. Also I want yo dk a drop kick takedown in combat and be able to do kicks instead of just punching. The ability to grab a enemy and throw them into another one or use them as a human sheild instead of push them away. Wall running and more acrobatic playstyle like Lucy from Edgerunners.

NG+ doesn't need to rebalance the game because a major part of the VERY BEGINNING of the game is that it takes place a year after meeting Jackie and doing a bunch of jobs. So why the hell wouldn't V be more amped up after a year of doing this? Hell, the fact you can buy most of the upgrades within a week proves that V should have the means to obtain all the stuff s/he needs within a year. Also, the creators need to realize that not everyone wants to just restart at the beginning, where many of us would love to replay the game and just experience the story without the grind.

I don't care about NG+, as much as I'd want repayable gigs, non story related side quests, police scanner events, hell even the psychos. But I've come to my own work around, once I get back to 50, then do act 1, then do everything upto, and including my digi babe Panam. I'm gonna create a save there as my starting NG+ mode, with everything else left to do on the map, except for the gigs, and scanner events in Watson - cause that's how I got to 50 with a bit of xp mob farming.

In my opinion, new game plus should mean we still have all of our skills and money, but the cyberware and inventory shouldn't cross over. This would make it easier for balancing. Or you could have the cyberware and inventory carry over but have it in your stash. Then you could only let the player access it during act 2.

Yeah they could introduce a new rarity for weapons (exotic, Diamond, insert retread name here), clothing, and cyberware. Makes sense to release with Phantom Liberty, being that we will likely get a level cap increase anyway, along with new skills. Wouldn’t put it past CDPR to include a new crafting perk that allows you to craft these new rarities but can make them at a high resource cost for balance. I dunno - this is the same developer that made arguably the greatest DLC of all time in blood and wine along with a really well done NG+ for a massive game like the Witcher 3….so I’m sure they can think of something to make NG+ not only work, but also have great incentives.

New Game Plus could simply just take place right after the Biochip heist. Just put the character right there. Look at Sucker Punch for example. The way they approached New Game Plus in Ghost of Tsushima was to just have the player completely skip the Komoda Beach fight entirely, the meeting Yuna segment, and the learning basic mechanics segment. You can simply just skip this whole part and just go right to the point V has the chip in their skull and when they are officially free roam capable.

Worst part about cyberpunk is once your build starts truly getting fleshed out and you have good end game gear you pretty much have already done most of the side quests and are bordering on the last hour or two of story content so you never feel like you can really enjoy a max level character sense as far as i know you cant redo bounties and fixer quests or the story quests and the game is not like borderland where areas are full of enemies respawn and ajust to the player level effectively allowing the player to sweep and area as much as they want. Your just limited to what few gang members dotted around the map in little clusters of like 3 or 5 people. Add in if you progress at the pace the game expect you to the coolest abilities you get wont be till near end game like sandevistan or the legendary versions of implants be it the lack of eddies if you dont try to 100% clear the map or rush the story .

Ng+ would be awesome but I am still enjoying the game alot but I'm just on my first playthrough (I've reset alot lol but never beat the game yet since I'm a very slow game player)

i played the whole game on day 1 in a 1050Ti with a I7 6700 :p 40-50 fps on low, so dont worry

I really hope they dont add respec atributes. This isnt the witcher 3 it would kill replayability for the game in a spark.

I am a little sad that they didnt add a few bug fixes as well. Just some new lighting to make the game look better isnt going to change the feel of the game. I still have to be careful to not bug out when I play. There are still items thay can not be picked up for some reason when you kill an enemy. The NPC's movements are very blocky and i seriously think this game needed to be in development for at least another 4 years to give up a game thats on par with GTA

They can start the NG+ after V have been saved for Victor so no heist ...... this is the point that the game actually begins aniway . V is in the wheelchair being push by Misty so we can keep all are stuffs after all this is the same character so is the same path . I play on a PS5 i buy the game 2 months ago and the absent of NG+ is unspeakable when i play Horizon the best playthrough is the NG+ playthrough and i hope to enjoy that in Cyberpunk if the put it PUT IT

I have a 2070 but I just bought a 3060, is that good enough to run Cyberpunk2077? I know before the update my 2070 worked fine but now it crashes as soon as it shows the title
