I've been saying this since I put my hands on it and definitely since I put it in a shootout with the Aldebaran MGL... The reel is awesome definitely the best Zillion to date and the Boost part is being underrated by everyone in how it helps with casting

That’s exactly why I buy all my Metaniums from Japan. It’s my favorite reel so far but just can’t see paying almost $500 after taxes when they are just about half that out east. Gonna have to check the Zillion out soon though.

I'm a Shimano guy but had to give the JDM Zillion a try. It beats down my Curado's for user friendly and cast control but I wouldn't trade one of my Metaniums for it.

Lol yes this has to be Debo’s absolute favorite Reel in his Arsenal. He’s said many times he would never part with his Zillion. I’ve seen it in action and it looks like it’s just effortless Fun all day long for whatever you want to throw on it. I thought Debo would use it Frogging but man that gets a Reel pretty gnarly and it’s way to nice for that.

Agreed, fantastic reel. Now, price difference does not come into play if one starts looking to Japan where the JDM models are. Difference in price between Metanium 2020 and Zillion SV TW is next to nothing. Same in Europe, costs almost the same. With the price difference out of the question the Metanium 2020 feels sooo much smoother, almost too smooth in a way. I have both, and fished both for a year. Zillion has the better casting system for sure, but the Metanium is well built and without any fancy casting brakes etc., it still performs close to Zillion. Winding them I give the edge to Metanium because it just feels so dang butter smooth, unbelievable. Styling, edge to Metanium as well with less plastic feel than Zillion. Put some proper JDM line on either one and you cannot stop casting 😁

The Made In Japan version of the zillion2021, when ordered from Japan, is currently aroud $200. For that price, its the best reel ever created, and nothing can even approach it.

I just received a brand new Daiwa Zillion 21 SV TW G reel ( ZLNSVG100H ) but without the cast control cap or the stem. Where can I order an authentic replacement cap and stem for it or any that is compatible? I think the Daiwa part number is H28-1201 but I’m not 100% sure on that or what the stem it covers is. This Zillion 21 is a pretty well known reel so I figured you guys might have a good idea of what would work here. Thank you!

The U.S. version is made in Thailand and the JDM is made in Japan but the U.S. version has Brass gearing vs. Aluminum on the JDM and the U.S. handle is a little bigger and beefier. I purchased the JDM because it was $150 bucks less and I love it.

Love my Zillion SVs. I do not agree with the Zero Adjust though. I have 4 Zillons and they were NOT set the same from the factory. I usually set it up how I want it but I can tell you first hand that they are not consistent from the factory.

I bought my first diawa in December it will be my last. It broke fished with it 4 times. 200$ tatula. I’ll still with shimano or my $80 piscifun that’s been beat to shit and still works. I know it’s probably just a one off. But the shimano feels better anyway.
