imho I feel the fragility of the N2DS XL is overstated here. It's not the OG Gameboy brick but it's more than sufficient. It's easy to find wrecked examples of every iteration of the 3DS generation.

it's actually less fragile than a new 3ds xl if you treat it right. What's nice about the n2dsxl is the plastic shell, versus the glossy, flaky shell of the n3ds xl. I own an orange/white one and it looks literally brand new still after 2 years of use.

I've had my new 2ds XL for 3 years now, and I dropped it twice. It is perfectly fine, besides a little scratch, so I don't know why yours is so fragile. It might just be mine that's tougher for some reason, though.

Con with the New 3DS XL (and the regular version too) : You have to open the backplate (which is protected by screws btw) every single time you want to do anything with the sd card So for modding, that's a pro to the New 2DS XL

As an owner of a DS Lite & NEW 3DS XL, I think ANY version of the DS/3DS family is a winner. The amount of games for the DS and the 3DS are astronomical. Can't play physical or virtual DS or 3DS games on a Switch.

I remember I used to have a regular 2DS (the Black and blue one) and it was good, pretty decent, but then in 2016/2015 I saved up my money and got a New 3DS XL. Still have it, love it, one of my favorite consoles ever. The New 3DS XL is GOATED!! Mmm, I love it. I might just buy another one and mode it.

The only 3DS consoles worth getting is the original 3DS, the regular 2DS but the stylus holder has the chance of cracking, and or the New 3DS XL. Skip out on the other two. For DS the only DS's worth getting are the Lite, DSi, and the DSi XL for some. Personally, the Lite, DSi XL, and New 3DS XL are peak DS gaming.

I own the 2DS XL. The New 3DS XL is far better. The hinged design on the 2DS XL is odd with how it sticks out and isn't flush mixed in with the small stylus, annoying cartridge door, the speakers being at the bottom which makes it sound quieter even though it's stereo, and the loose hinge. However the loose hinge is by design, so the screen doesn't crack. I've heard stories, of people putting the 2DS XL in their pocket and taking it out only for the screen to still be cracked. Maybe they were bending down and putting stress on the screen for it to crack like that, but Idk. For sure, I would never put mine in my pocket. Always have mine in my case when walking around. I got my 2DS XL in 2019. It was the last batch and I got it for 100 dollars since they were trying to get rid of them in lieu of the Switch. Also, the 2DS XL costs 200 used you'll be lucky to even get it for 180.

You can still buy new 3DS XLs for like $150 if its japanese. I got mine this year (New 3DS LL) You really don't need to region change it either. Only the home is Japanese. All the games become region unlocked when you homebrew Luma on it.

My 2ds xl didn't ever have the game cart issue but it did fail in a weird way,i closed it,charged it went to open it and it wouldn't turn on the screens but it would turn on,I did homebrew it before it failed, surprisingly Nintendo did not find out and sent me a brand new one for no charge

The New 2DS XL was the Game Boy Micro of the 3DS family. It ruined the 3DS family for being a really crappy handheld. And here is what I mean: 1. The New 2DS XL is made out of easy-to-break matte plastic. 2. The New 2DS XL's top screen is floppy. 3. The New 2DS XL's home button gets stuck. 4. The New 2DS XL's stylus is way too small and the stylus does not extend and retract. 5. The New 2DS XL is impossible to repair. 6. It is not as sturdy as the New 3DS and New 3DS XL. 7. The New 2DS XL's speakers are at the bottom of the handheld, causing the speakers to be muffled. And 8. What were Nintendo thinking back when they created the New 2DS XL?!!

All I can say is I've owned both (Pre-owned) and after one 3 foot drop the N2dsXL started bugging out and eventually stopped working. The N3dsXL feels so much sturdier, kinda like a Switch (Maybe a little more fragile). My money goes to the N3dsXL.

I bought a 2ds xl because it was the only new 3ds/2ds console that was on ebay for a good price but it has many problems that you also mentioned like the cheap plastic that it's made of, the display that you can see through the console on the right side and i think that the hinge gets much more wobbly than other 3ds consoles. The 2ds already came with a little crack on the top but i sadly cannot sent it to nintendo to repair because i already hacked it 💀. But It's definitly an upgrade to my old crusty, broken 2ds were the circle pad was gone and the games were also stuck in

If mom bought you New 2DS XL and having trouble finding a 2DS Games, you did bit of research and do suggesting that 3DS fits but she ignores you. Going to Mall with mom asking a videogame salesman about 2DS games told her about 3DS and DS Games fits on your N2DS XL then mom let you choose 1 game because she was strict. She wanted you to buy Shin megami Tensei IV collectors edition but she notice the protagonist is sitting half naked she reluctantly takes Super Mario instead because Flynn the protagonist looks gay. Both of you go back to home telling it on father and laugh at you after showing a video of SMT IV that mom misunderstood the concept.

I get that the 2DS XL feels cheaper, but a lot of your comments about a thin top screen aren't truthfully exclusive to the 2DS XL. Plenty of people have snapped their 3DS XL top screen off, shattered it on accident, etc. The 2ds and 3ds aren't resilient consoles at all. If you buy one, no matter the model, don't plan on dropping it and don't handle it with excessive force because you more than likely will break something, although I can't imagine someone older than 15 would be handling these consoles like a toddler.

I have an Old 3ds XL (when I was a kid) and New 2ds XL (purchased in 2022). Honestly? Old Nintendo models are much better. The old versions (especially the old 3ds XL) are simple. They have a much more comfortable layout, have a higher impact resistance and are much cheaper. So if you wanna buy a Nintendo 3ds in 2024, I recommend you to buy the first old 3ds or the old 3ds XL.

I have both those AWESOME Nintendo's greatest handheld consoles of all time New 3DS XL Red Super Smash Bros Special Edition and New 2DS XL just that same black and blue colored version, but white and orange colored version is cool too. New 3DS XL was my first got in christmas 2013 over 10 years ago what makes me to feel old gamer and when it's screen sadly wen't broken I got New 2DS XL what's nothing like 2DS because it's more like 3DS for me defienitily it's look is like a 3DS and works the same way I really LOVE Nintendo 3DS/2DS not just the best Nintendo's handhelds, but also the best handheld consoles of all time that was my childhood after DS this video was good thank you! 💙🖤

The only thing I think the New 2DS XL does truly better than New 3DS XL, if the "paint". My NN3DSXL is like new, but I have had a crystal case for years and I have seen how a lot of those systems look like if you didn't have one, it's like a sticker on top of it. For the rest I never liked the New 2DS XL, 2DS made sense in a lot of regards, plus it was dirt cheap (99 euro with a game before New models came out, while regular 3DS and 3DS XL where like 60 euro more without a game) The regular 2DS made some choice that make sense, but the moment I start about the New 2DS XL I start to sum up all the "but why?" things. Like smaller stylus, speakers in terrible location, cameras in terrible location, "3D" feel designs on some more limited models, making them incompatible with cases made for that model and so on and so on. The list is so long, I wonder what Nintendo was even thinking when they designed this thing. And it wasn't cheap, when New 2DS XL launched over here, even the New 3DS XL was cheaper. Heck, the only time the New 2DS XL made sense in my country was when Nintendo stopped selling the New 3DS and New 3DS XL, because until the last one were sold, they were always cheaper than New 2DS XL.
