Yeah I totally agree! You should always aim lights FIRST before you film how they appear on the road because your impression is going to be based on beams that are either too high or too low or both such as this case. Doesn't make sense.

I am in Eastern Canada, got my new 2024 4Runner OffRoad 2 weeks ago and already running those head lights. Love the wide spectrum and the supercharger. I am still on stuck suspension and lower the lights a bit to avoid issues.. Since I will run them supercharged.. Once I get on high beams I can see so far away and dont feel ditch light will be needed.. I did install the resistor, not clear on if i need or not. But Ya Morimoto out done themself with this...

Welcome back! No need to apologize for being busy. :) I'm not sure why you'd need something for Halogen when the new unit is all LED. Is it a voltage thing coming off the fuse block? I do like the look of the Morimoto more. I also think it blends better with your existing ambers. Thanks!
@OverlandEngineer3 ай бұрын
@@InGratitudeIam likely because the voltage is designed for a halogen load not LED load. So the little resistor thing is just for originally stock halogen headlights. That’s my best guess

I was really excited when i first saw these released a couplw weeks back and am glad to see the headlights in action. Curious if you know any specifics on the lens heating (is it physical elements in the lens or a forced-air type heating) or if youve tried running that yet to see how warm the lens gets. I know we dont need it in Minnesota quite yet, but wondering if its worth it. Also, what remote start are you running?
@yoshiishida65773 ай бұрын
It is area convection heating, no heating element is embedded in lens material to disturb optical output. heating potency is approx about +30C to ambient temp This is to aid breaking ice/snow layer to lens surface adhesion In US scale, When ambient is 30F ( sticky snow) drive speed + headwind speed total 40mph, lens surface expected to maintain approx about 65-70F When ambient is 20F, at total wind speed 40mph, lens surface is expected to be around 60F Important to note this is not designed for boil or evaporate accumulated snow tower overnight parking, it is an aid to break snow layer adhesion, for it to slide off, so snow layer won't accumulate on the lens while driving.

Sick! In the market to get some headlights, I was torn between alpharex or the morimoto since you had both which do you prefer? Also what fog lights you have they match really well with the amber theme?

You didn’t mention if you ended up needing to install the DRL harness. If you didn’t, do you need to turn on the DRL manually with the stock?

So I just got these also, how are you liking that beam pattern? Does your driver side headlight have that weird dip/step up?
@OverlandEngineer3 ай бұрын
@@SithLordDarthBane so far, pretty sweet honestly. Beam pattern seems a little bit odd like it ventures too far into the oncoming lane, but also its lower so maybe it dodges oncoming traffic and allows for nice ditch visibility. I need to get more night driving under my belt with these to really decide though.
