I work as an LEO in Georgia and I wear the Stryke pants in TDU Green on duty(our policy calls for TDU Green 5.11 pants). I've never worn a more comfortable and durable pair of pants. The Stryke pants do in fact have the internal pockets for knee pads.

I'm always so wowed when I see Mrs. Nutn in a video. She's such beauty and it's always good to see her in the project! Those are some great looking pants though! I've gotta get me some. I would just wear them for the functionality alone.
@johnchristopher2010 жыл бұрын
We need some Mrs. Nutnfancy videos to encourage female shooters, preppers and whatevers! Convince her! Also, you are dead on with clips. I have been wearing a knife and penlight in my 511 pants. No problems until the weather turned cold enough for me to switch from a jacket to a coat. Suddenly, my light went missing. Found it. Fourth time I realized I had a problem. More that an inch exposed above the pocket was enough for my long coat to snag and drag. Deep clips needed. Thanks for the heads up, it helps us when we pull our heads out!

I'd love it if 5.11 came out with a "professional" line of clothing for those that have a suit and tie job. Something durable with quality stitching that can handle a concealed carry EDC system. I love the look, but hate how dress slacks are so nonutilitarian compared to 5.11s or a quality denim.

Shoulder holster? That's what my father uses when he has to wear his suit for court duty.
@americankulak830110 жыл бұрын
***** I'd love to wear shoulder holsters, but I don't have what Nutn calls "real estate" for it. It works for average-larger frame people, but not for the beanpole folk. Especially with tailored, slim-fit clothing. It's just too much printing when mum's the word. But my original post was about the POU of dress clothing. Most are designed for people that are rarely active in them and not made to have more than a phone or wallet in the pockets and they snag and fray ridiculously easy. When appearances matter, it's hard to sell yourself with wear marks around the pockets and knees. And quality slacks or stupid expensive compared to jeans.
@nicklong485510 жыл бұрын
I switched from the taclite pros to the stryke series about a year ago now and couldn't be happier. They have two knife pockets that are rather wide allowing me to rock a leatherman and ld22 in one pocket and a pen and knife in the other. I also like the internal webbing in the cargo pockets as this allows me to keep two spare mags in the left and they maintain their orientation. Not the quickest for reloads but it's better than not having a spare.

The canvas pants are amazing in certain pou's. I have property in Texas and they are great when you are worried about thorns sticks cactus...and the pockets make it easy to carry tools or mags when hunting or fixing fence. Barn wire didn't even bug me a second.

I have a pair of Nike sweatpants of similar material to the Mountaineer pants snown...incredibly lite and comfortable. I like the new Stryke front pocket with the notch cutout over the slanted or elongated radius cutouts. It just gives it a less tactical, sharper look.

I wear the Stryker 5.11 pants everyday since 2012. Best EDC pants ever. I can carry 3 magazines, big folding Spartan blade, Streamlight Tac AA, wallet, comb, keys, and 5" smartphone. Front two cut pockets are the best; I can carry extra standard capacity 15 rd magazine on the left cut pocket and Sparta blade on the right cut pocket. My EDC pants have wore really well played with them in urban training, blue collar work, auto mechanic, and washable over-over. Owned them almost four years, amazing. Expensive at $75 a pant but well worth every penny time after time. Buying more later. Need discount. Highly recommended.

I wear the Stryke pants to work 2 days a week(I have 2 pairs lol.) I work in outdoor retail as an apparel manager. I have a suggestion for a new pant from 511 and I have made it to them. Hopefully it doesn't go straight to spam haha. Simply remove the cargo pockets from the Stryke pants but keep the two slip pockets. Remove the rip-stop box stitching in favor of a low key look. Add two(1 on each side) 1/2 inch wide 5 inch deep slip pocket for a pen/penlight about 2 1/2 to 3 inches below the main pockets along the seam line. Call them the COVRT Pant to go with the bag lineup or Office-Tac to go with the pant lineup. I think they would be their #1 selling pant and they could even get away with using a 100% cotton material as long as it has decent strength(and a non-visibly reinforced crotchal/taint region.) Most people need pants for their job. Also the main reason I hear from people not buying 511 pants is that they don't like the look for everyday wear. So in Nutnfancy terms haha.. The POU is an EDC pant for the office or otherwise. The SAWC will need to factor in LC meaning look constraint. We need regular and good looking khakis that sacrifice some firepower and mobility in favor of wear-ability.

The pockets in the cargo pockets are great, unlike tactiles you can put your knife or mt in the cargo pocket and still run with it, also good for pens etc.

Stryke Pants nutnfancy I'm rolling those for the last year. Video coming out soon on them. I recommend them. Only one issue. Durability scale is low. 5.11 did warranty them for premature wear. 1 year warranty. Wallet is wearing a hole though the butt region. Fantastic otherwise. Utility pockets in odd spots. Take some getting used too.

I love their pants, but I had a pair of 5.11 boots that fell apart after 18 months of office use. Well... by fell apart I mean the fabric failed in two spots, along the stitching line. They were comfortable, and I've relegated them to garden work boots now. It's just disappointing that something that is targeted as a 'combat boot' would fail under such light conditions.

Funny- I'm watching this video as I repair my 5.11 BDU's- again! I have a lot of 5.11 stuff. The styling and functionality is good, but the quality on some of the gear is sub-par. My duty belt makes short work of the belt loop stitching. I literally get about 6-7 days out of a pair before it's repair time. That being said, I wear the tac light pants almost daily off duty, and I love them. These also look like a great option. Thanks, Nutn!

I bought -- and wore -- two pair of TacLite Pros, and liked them well enough. Then I bought a pair of the Stryke pants, and I have not worn my TacLite Pros since. I now have three pair of the Stryke pants, and I love them. Great fit, great durability, amazing pockets and pocket placement. The fabric moves with you, and the pants don't scream TACTICAL (not that I have anything against "tactical"... it's just nice to fly under the radar, if you get my drift). Sizing can be a bit tricky, but luckily have was able to try on before I bought (as opposed to buying directly on-line). I can't recommend these pants highly enough! BTW, anyone want to buy two pair of slightly used TacLite Pros? :-)

**Little warning about the fit for guys with big quads. After watching a lot of reviews about tac style pants, I ordered the Stryke pants, the Taclite pros, and the Blackhawk tac pants at the same time. Those three are supposed to be some of the roomiest for big legs/smaller waist. The Stryke pants were noticeably smaller in the legs/butt than the other two. Kept the Taclite pros and the Blackhawks and love them both, sent the Stryke back. Anyone with Amazon prime your house can be your dressing room with no loss to you. BTW, the stretchy rip stop is some awesome breathable fabric, they just didn't fit well.
