I have started a small side business repairing and modifying gauge clusters. I needed to upgrade my workbench a little bit and finally get a hot air station to help with some of the solder reflow jobs.
There are cheaper models than this one, and there are models that are MUCH more expensive. This seemed to be a happy medium with good reviews and a great price. I don't use this much, so I didn't want to invest in an expensive unit, but I have come to use it a lot for other stuff as well, and it works great! (Setting heat shrink, breaking plastic or adhesive bonds, forming plastics, etc)
This unit was bought on Amazon for about $50 at the time.
