When I lived in queens and would go to a bodega daily these kinds of things happen all the time. I can see it happening. It’s happened to me where I was standing in line and a public servant will walk in for lunch and they skipped me in line to serve him. In this case it was a police officer of Indian descent and the owners were Indian as well. So, it made sense. It was irritating but not surprising. I can see them getting into an argument and escalating. I believe both of them.

Youre leaving out the eyewitness testimony of the store clerk who had already described the series of events and did not describe any of what you just said. Just that Hodges was on line first, ordered first, Cruz was behind him, started the argument, spit on Hodges, to which then Hodges theew a cup of lemon juice at Cruz, which then resulted in Cryz pulling the knife 🗡️ and stabbing Hosfes multiple times in the back. Besides this, we need to take into account that besides bot kiving there, Hodges frewuented that store since that was in his shift. While Cruz lived on that very same block. So its likely that the store clerk is familiar wth both. Lastly, should be taken into account Cruz has a history of violent attacks and arrests involving knives. Once in open public threatening to kill someone waving a box cutter and resisting arrest, and another in a robbery invasion using a knife.

The law of justification is a funny one, cause if somehow someway they prove that transwomans life was in danger, like actually trapped against that fridge with no way out, the case is goes out the window.
