The best part of the video was seeing all the Bibles on the coffee table as if the family had been reading together. ❤

Your videos get me out of my head and into my heart. I instantly learned something about myself, when you described how you love looking at houses, I do too, and that would be what you hung on your walls. I understand how adding those beautiful, loved-in looking homes, like looking through windows at what surrounds you, it will transform that tight, dark basement into a °360 view. Very clever, charming and thoughtful, are you!! I adored this episode.

I love looking at houses too. My husband and I routinely drive around, just for the enjoyment of house-gazing. If you are ever traveling to the Eastern half of the USA, I *highly* recommend taking the time to tour Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. I am perpetually fascinated by this magnificent place. When it was built, it was ahead of its time in every way… it captivates me and my entire family. For my daughter’s 22nd birthday last year, she requested a Christmas visit to Biltmore, but she wanted to dress in period-specific clothing. So, we made long walking skirts and crocheted shawls, all from late 1800’s patterns. My husband and son did their part to dress accordingly as well. You should have seen the looks we got! The people who understood the time period and the designs of our outfits would absolutely light up when they saw us. It is a wonderful memory. The pictures we took… roaming the rose gardens with the massive glass hot houses in the background… *sigh*. I could do it every day. Anyway…I digress… if you ever have the opportunity to visit this place, I think you would love it. Your videos are a constant source of inspiration and enjoyment. Thank you, Nikki. 🌹

I am going there this weekend! I couldn’t agree more with your sentiments about the Biltmore Estate. I’m so thankful they made it through the damages from Hurricane Helene. 🙏🏻

Something that I missed until I read it in the comments, were the Bibles on the coffee table. I agree Bible reading with your children is a special time. A time when we can inculcate in them good moral values, which in turn will keep them safe. Deuteronomy 6:5-7

I just loved watching your video and seeing the beautiful artwork you've chosen for your new home! I've always had a special appreciation for art that captures the charm and beauty of homes. Before moving from Southern California, I lived and a lovely cottage, and most of the artwork I collected there was by the artist Susan Rios. Her pieces always depicted, cozy, interiors, gardens, or stunning home scenes that inspired me every day. When I moved to the Oregon coast, I didn't bring that collection with me and had to start over. But serendipitously, I found a piece of art here that features our current home… It feels so meaningful and has become a favorite. Now, I love finding artwork that not only showcases beautiful homes, but also includes gardens or natural landscapes. Thank you for sharing your journey and for your wonderful selections; they've sparked so much inspiration for me!💗

I have the same vacuum and I did the same thing when we had stairs! It's more hassle than it's worth to take it apart so I'm right there with you. And yes, easier on my back, as odd as that might seem to some people. Growing up, we had a small one, roughly the size of a loaf of bread, that we used on the stairs. It was just the right size that if you turned it sideways, you could perfectly fit it get the vertical part of the steps, too.

Oh my goodness! That coffee table really pulled that room together. It looks so nice! And I, too, loved seeing the Bible’s on the table. The thrifted/FB Marketplace finds are giving your home a curated, timeless elegance to your new home. I’m really enjoying your process. 😊 I also wanted to add that this is my favorite style video of yours. It has the best of everything. Cleaning/decor/cooking etc… I feel like this is where you especially shine. I’ve also noticed that you seem more peaceful and settled and like you enjoy making videos again. I’m so glad for you. 😊And it blesses me (and others) as well. I loved this video so much that I watched it twice! 🧡

Lovely video! I always find your home so comforting. With my dogs I leave a towel but the door they go out and they're trained to get their feet wiped particularly in bad weather. We also have a carpet cleaner and daily vacuum. We recently purchased the Bissell spot cleaner. Easier than pulling the large cleaner.

I was fascinated with the cooking segment. What kind of rice was this? Did you turn the steaks at some point in the oven? Lastly, why did you boil the asparagus instead of roasting in the oven? I enjoy your channel very much.
@TheLadyoftheHouse2 ай бұрын
It was the chicken Rice-A-Roni. I broiled the steaks and it depends on the thickness of the cut for how long is needed on each side and I flip once. Usually 8-10 minutes for each side. We enjoy boiled asparagus with lemon butter over it. I boil it for 7 minutes. I've had it both ways.

And I'm not a clean freak. But vaccuming every day just didnt donit for me. Although, i had small children, do maybe that was way it never felt clean enough. I like your vaccum. The color is very nice.
