It works very well. The guy in the first boat would always leave a huge wash and only a few meters away when he passed. The camera worked like magic.

The mast has a satin colour to it, what is it made of and painted with?

Good question. It was already applied when I bought the boat. It's a satin varnish or a wood-stain underneath it.
