Love that trooper boot! I've had the barefoot rangers for four months now and have worn them daily and love them. I work outside in the elements and on roofs and in crawl spaces and also do a lot of walking/ hiking. With that I have to say, these boots are great! And oddly enough, they don't smell either.. and I don't use foot power 😅

It would be cool if you added a BOA lace system as a custom option it would probably be a pain for you to do but it would be a nice option . I bought a pair of Numzaan boots a couple weeks ago and I love them, I like the chrome veg tan leather and they shine up very nice and are comfortable .

Hoping for a 6" trooper eventually. 8" is a bit too tall for me. Also hoping you do some barefoot chelsea boots in some other leather options soon. Not a fan of the 3 options up for PO.

That's a perfect boot AR8 with lug sole, also you guys should have a sole option to buy in your site., because I took my African ranger to get resole and the cobbler said there too wide for the sole we have in the USA.

@@testermonkey2304 ehh... Lightweight is good, but barefoot style shoes are also zero drop and have zero toe lift.

3 categories define a barefoot. wide toe, zero drop and ground feel. Currently rocking the African ranger barefoot (and love them) just need a bit more longevity out of a sole as I am in the 12h + a day. So a little less ground feel but still flexible ( no shank) would make them the perfect every day / many km boot.

I agree with you as I work in construction. I like zero drop and wide toe box but could use less ground feel than normal barefoot boots provide. I also wear the African ranger and it’s been great, aside from too much ground feel to be really comfortable for my situation.

There's definitely some interesting boots in this rack. My custom order just shipped yesterday and I'm excited to get them. They probably didn't get filmed for a custom rack video because there's nothing too unique looking about my order, but I expect them to be an excellent pair of Vellies.

You guys would make a killing if you decided to make a 8in boot in a coyote brown with a plain toe. You’d get a minimum 40-50k orders from military service members. Just food for thought.😊

I’ve thought the same thing for a while, but the weight and breath-ability of the boot compared to others on the market would make it a harder choice. Rocky currently makes probably the most durable boots that are compliant with Army boot standards, but not many Soldiers wear them since they’re so heavy. That being said, I’d love to wear an African Trooper or AR-8 as a service boot to see what it’s like.

If you’ve ever done flutter kicks in uniform, the weight of your boots is a pretty significant factor. Most combat arms folks tend to get lighter boots because they run, ruck, and ruck-run in them. Having ultralight, we’ll-cushioned boots for those activities makes a huge difference, regardless of what they look like.

The difference between me wearing Garmont T8 bifida and Danner Resurgence was that precise smoking exercise that was the deciding factor. That being said it’s folly to use the same pair of boots for all of those activities. Ruck boot, Walking boot, and Ruck-run boot should all be different. Not my words though, RASP instructor said so and I truly believe he was right all these years later. Hooah

Troopers will be super light and flexible. If you're not used to barefoot type footwear, it might get uncomfortable. I've been wearing the African Rangers for about 7 months and have many miles on them. I'm looking forward to getting the 8in trooper today.

I wish I could get a zero-drop sole on a regular last. Razorbacks with a flat version of the tyre wedge in steel toe would be awesome. Likewise, a Vellie with a flat version of the Bradbery sole sounds comfy. I see on the website more and more options are coming out, so I know you are working hard! I can't wait to see how things evolve over the next few years.

I REEEEAAAALLLLY would like a barefoot boot. But it loos like someone stapled a workboot to a flip flop. If you can trim the outsole to reasonable proportions, maybe. But no way am I paying more than 200 dollars for something that looks like a pair of Hey Dudes.

It would be very nice if it had a“oblique-toe-splayed out ~ a toe-box“ this would uninhibite the metatarsal bones and allow maximum toe splay. I am not a foot doctor, but I spent several years in the Marine Corps rifle company.= Infantryman:( carrying upwards of 60 pounds for more than 10 hours a day, things like; 10x30 round banana magazine clips, 10 straight clips, for the AR 15 assault rifle and for the Beretta 9 mm, Ballistic Flack jacket with trauma plate, water, bladder canteen,E&E escaping invasion kit,CMK COMBAT, MEDIC KIT,MREs mail ready to eat, Bennett, Hardhat= Ballistic combat helmet, night, vision goggles, Radio & radio batteries, all being held together with a ballistic nylon suspension system& pouches, strobe light, Pop, flares, smoke, grenades, fragmentation, and grenades, small Hand mirror, markers, map, case with DOD grid map map, lytic compass, two watches synchronized:),(and I was deployed six times) the main thing that is ruining military people, back knee problems, ankle problems, pelvis, problems, hip problems to problems, is an elevated heel and a restricted toebox(and your carrying all this weight under the dress-a lot of times it’s in darkness)👀😱😳‼️. but I would buy at least five or six pair of those boots if they had an “anatomical oblique-ergonomic toe-box”. you’re halfway there with the zero drop please make a human foot shaped toe box. And please thank the factory workers for their hard work with a good salary.
