What is the toughest leather you have available? Is it the buffalo or veg tan ?

When will we be able to buy a pair?

I just ordered a pair. I've run through so many pairs of minimalist shoes that cost hundreds of dollars and won't last More than 6 months as my primary shoe. I hope to be wearing these for many years.

Took me a week to break it down back in 2022... A bit discomfort initially but since then Razorback was amazing... I wish there is a version of razorback with 8 inch height, padded collar and padded+gasseted tongue, thick leather midsole and insole with rubber slip sole,, finally everything is attached to a durable hard as rock outsole,,, That would be my dream pair,,,

I may add, that after 2 pretty hard years on the African Ranger, the board was pretty destroyed. Made a resole impossible. But it was 2 hard years of use. Next pair will certainly have the leather midsoles

I held off from getting buffalo AR8s when I saw the African Troopers. I think the Rugged African Trooper in Buffalo is what I'm holding out for. Any chance of that being a 2025 possibility?

Is it necessary to buy footbeds for the troopers? I’ve heard someone say they feel like the rangers without insoles

I'd definitely be willing to sacrifice some flexibility and ground feel in a barefoot boot for more aggressive lugged tread. That's something I've been looking for for hunting here in the mountains of the Western U.S.

This is great showing where they are headed! Got my 4th pair of JG (3rd pair of African Rangers and first custom pair) a while back and will rotate them into rotation soon! This whole thing also brings back GenX youth memories to going to the local SoCal VANS shop and paging through their fabric samples then speccing out your custom pair which were ordered by hand on a spec sheet of paper. Then waiting (at least) 6 weeks and hoping to catch the phone call when they were in. Keep it up!!!
