I use AI applications to create art for my own personal use. AI doesn't replace an artist, writer, or song writer even if it is trained on actual art, published works, or music. AI is a machine that can understand and respond in ordinary language without the need to learn to be a software engineer, but it isn't fully developed yet. I have found myself doing a fair amount of programming in trying to install and use some of the tools, and just like anything else you must gain the skill to use the tools, or you will find your results will be less than satisfactory. Even then AI is extremely limited in what it can achieve at this point. Thank you for your explanation of how to use Corel Painter to blend areas where the AI fails to render an image that's visually appealing. I took one of my generated images and turned it into a nice soft portrait thanks to your tutorial.

I don’t know how this qualifies for artificial intelligence - this simple process has existed in other programs for years

Yeah... just looks like filters to me.

When you "reverted to original" in the first example, you demonstrated what I had already begun to suspect, i.e., in every case the original was better than that "artificial intelligence" version, with the possible exception of the dog abstraction. The people at Corel have cleverly answered a question that nobody asked.

The AI styles are interesting but I haven't seen anything that I would consider applying "as is" to an entire image; they seem more suited to limited areas of a composition. As long as Corel is creating such things I would really like to see something very much like Percolator by Tinrocket: www.tinrocket.com/apps/percolator/. (Some of their examples also imply what I would generally consider more appropriate for limited use of Painter AI styles to an image.)

These types of cheap effects are the sort of thing that someone who works in a copy shop would like/use. (In fact this whole presentation stinks of clip art users). They aren’t the type of thing someone who pays a decent amount of money for “the number one natural-media painting” software expects in their purchase. As others have said this isn’t anything new at all. The presenter literally gushed that she was able to save her own preset. Wow! I also don’t like this subscription option you have added. you want more money than adobe wants for photoshop but you shouldn’t be asking for half the price.

looks pretty neat.

Huge disappointment trying this so called AI. All it does is to make your photos look like someone tried to turn them into a drawing and did not succeed.

REMOVE YOUR POP UP ADS THAT COME WITH THE SOFTWARE! 😡 It's terrible that you have ADS that pop up on peoples computer screens when they DON'T even have a Painter application on. Terrible business decision, I've just seen thread after thread of people who were put off by this practice. And I have personally NEVER seen a serious company show ADS when their software isn't even ON!
