So many folks are complaining about how AKAI didn’t do enough to upgrade the X but the X already does everything. Let’s remember that many classic albums have been created with MPCs that have a fraction of the capabilities of this one, and from a business and marketing standpoint you don’t drop revolutionary tech all at once every 5 years, you increase it incrementally while maintaining quality. Which is what this BUSINESS is doing. Love it 🥳

Got mine on eBay for 1400$. Not a scratch on it, every button and knob works perfectly. All of the plastics were still on the screens and gloss plastic trim. How much lower do you want to get? People in some places are asking that much for a live2 with a handful of old plugins.

I was hoping for a bigger upgrade. I think it would have been cool if they would have released an XL instead. To me this looks like another controller with integrated computer if that makes sense. Put in some analog filters. Give different options when it comes to the sample engine like ISLA did with the S2400. There‘s a ton of potential but zero innovation tbh. People are looking for analog options to color their sound these days instead of loading more plugins. You can proof this by checking the tons of guitar pedals people are buying these days. I guess it‘s more important for AKAI to additionally sell more software expansion packs and plugins to load within their echo system instead of innovating the creative scene. Just my two cents atm.

@@rbwduece1 Huge difference in companies, AKAI is a pump and dump, they will drop some day, ISLA, is named after his kid that will keep a family business alive like Moog, Deluge, like the OLD AKAI…. HUGE difference. Isla was designed to upgrade and evolve, these were planned obsolescence from day one. No way anyone can look at this as better unless they are intellectually compromised.

Hey Marlow. I have an MPC 1000. I love it but it seems to be double triggering a lot lately. I’ll be on a sequence and playing pads and it jump over to another sequence. Or as I’m just starting I’ll have say a 90 tempo beat and it’s still highlighted on it where I can change it, and out of nowhere the beat is off and I look and it moved off the 90 to like 90.1 or whatever. I’m thinking to fix this might be hard and expensive. Also, I’m looking to maybe upgrade so I can simply just make beats and easily upload them to my computer and have them available on my KZbin channel so I can listen to them at work or whatever. I don’t know much about all of this new technology, but with these newer MPC’s is it that easy? You know, make a beat, upload it, boom, listen to it on my phone? Also, do you think this is better than the Live? I keep seeing people say the Live might be better. I know it’s personal preference, but I have none other than that I’ve only worked on an MPC 1000. 😁 Thanks Edit: So I misunderstood what double triggering meant. That’s not what mine is doing. It’s like if I’m playing the beat and I tap on the side of the MPC it sometimes will jump to a different sequence. And when I’m changing from low pass to band or high etc. it will jump to one or the other if it’s still highlighted and I push on a pad to hear the sample. Overall when I push the pads it just seems like there’s a short or something(not just in the pad itself but in the MPC overall). Is this something that can be fixed easily if I were to take it in to be repaired?

I wish I could help but I have no idea what could be wrong and how much it would cost. I'd just send it for repair and pray for a cheap repair. As for the new mpcs I always prefer the Live because of portability, but as you said that is just a preference thing, all new mpcs do the same thing. And yes it would make your life much much easier.

On the inside ...it is different...it has a Processor: Quad-core ARM® processor which the original MPC X does not, if it does...it is not printed anywhere.. .I have a MPC X, this Quad - core processor is the reason why I will buy a MPC X SE.

I have nothing against Marlow at all , you have worked hard for a long time and contributed way more than most with endless mix tapes and albums and now tutorials but In music brands is running a grift, this idea of selling what they call plugins and not VSTs limiting us to proprietary plugins and partner companies like that link to one sample sharing site but none of the others. And making us keep their shit samples on the device cuz without em it breaks , oh hell no. They are not even paying testers to iron out the bugs, my roommate is a tester and she just bought a new car what are Akai testers getting? 30% off of somthing made in China shit they will make obsolete in a few years? they will do a price drop on soon because NI is about to fly over and drop nukes on em.
