Matt! "Oh What a Thrill" to see your review of the Mavericks new album! I've been a huge fan since their start. Raul has one of the most glorious voices in any genre. I've seen them a couple times in concert and they are fabulous - Eddy Perez is an amazing guitarist. They often do a Beatles song in their shows, too. Planning to pick the new album up soon! Thanks for the excellent review!!

@@wink853 yeah I see what you’re saying, but in my defense, I’ve been a fan of their since 1994, had a nice little collection of their early stuff, but you’re right, the last couple of few years I’ve really gotten into them hard-core. And a lot of it is thanks to you. Cheers mate.🍺

Thank you for this review. Moon and Stars is becoming my new favorite album. I live, breath and sing the songs of the Mavericks, in the car, riding my bike, at home, at work, working out, watching KZbin, doing karaoke, playing my guitar, even showering😂 morning, noon and night, it's all Mavericks. My wife and I recently attended their concert at the Count Basie theater in Red Bank NJ and it was a blast. Raul Malo's (Ma-ló, pronounced like Bad in Spanish, in his case Badass 😁) distinguished voice is something that'll resonate to heart ones heard. Very hard not to love them as they all are talented in their own musical rights. The original 4 members were good but the Mavericks of today are the best ever assembled musicians of any group as they have evolved, thanks to the master vocalist himself😃 Raul Malo's voice gets better with age. Watch his early vocals and performances and you can pretty much distinguish the difference. His voice and character as well as his song writing style just gets better and better. He actually inspires me to pick up my guitar everyday and sing their songs, maybe I'll do a cover one day soon☺️ Thanks again for posting this review🙏

I love the Mavericks and have been a strong supporter of them also. I like it when they have more of that Tex mex feel to their music. I plan to look into this album. Feel good music

It's great to have a new Mavericks album; We have covered "Oh, What a Cryin' Shame" for years in certain situations. Raul is one of the best singers on the planet and he also has wonderful solo albums. You should hear his cover of J.D. Souther's " You're Only Lonely" ...And "Mr Eddie " Perez is one of my favorite guitar players...Peace and Love, Terry Tutor

The Mavericks are my favorite band!! Like you said, hard to know why more people don’t know them. Or their name and music! I’ve followed them since 2011 as I first was introduced to Raul as he finished his solo tour period! Raul Malo’s is without a doubt the greatest singer around today! The range of his voice is showcased amazingly in this album! Highly recommend!

Hi Matt, I know the Mavericks. They are popular here in Texas. The singer Raul Malo is friends with a restaurant owner I know. He has a great voice and made great solo albums. He also was a member of Los Super Seven for a bit. Take Care, Ed

Max Abrams......GO Max!! on Saxophone.....Juilio Diaz on Trumpet....Lorenzo Molina Trumpet and Trombone and percussions....Percy Cardona on Accordian and a new bass player who's name escapes me. Everyone of them is a fantastic musician who is multi talented. Never have I seen a band so obviously having a blast, ( Jerry Dale is a show himself), the love for what they are doing shows. The ultimate touring party. LOVE LOVE LOVE these guys. Just a good time waiting to happen. Thrilled by this new album. Keep it coming guys!

All the musician assembled into this band are awesome but Eddie Perez and Percy Cardona are true Showmen who really steps out on their solos with so much passion and enthusiasm.
