Long time Superman fan but never liked the red trunks ( in most cases they’ve looked ridiculous in both the comics and live action films except for Christopher Reeves version which was awesome) however in these set photos the trunks look like adult diapers- The rest of the Suit looks great; the Kingdom Come “S” Insignia and the all yellow “S” on the back of his cape👍 Mister Terrific really looks comic book accurate which is…….TERRIFIC👍

The suit is getting a reaction similar to that of Routh's Superman returns suit. There are things people like but things they would change. Hardly the home run the film needs as buzz so far is not great. The suit is baggy - Corenswet wasted all that time in the gym. Gunn is going for a "thick" look a la All Star. The collar/cape are a step backwards and all the lines pointless. Funny - Mr. Terrific's suit is getting a far more positive response. Wild if Superman ends up with the lease liked suit in the film.SS.

I personally like the bagginess. I’m someone that’s a big fan of early mcu, Alex Ross and Jack ass. Where the suits are rather real and imperfect, they have a loose quality about them and I think that suits the world a lot better to me. Cavill’s suit to me looks great, but it doesn’t look like something someone would actually wear. I understand it’s alien but I can always tell when they decide to use a muscle suit with him, Batman and Aquaman. It’s stylised, but I have a feeling that’s not what Gunn is going for. We are judging this suit based off past iterations. Movies are an art form and needs to be judged in full to really appreciate the some of its parts.

I look at David and I see Superman. Is the suit for everyone, no but for me it is. The colors are vibrant and the cape doesn't drag on the ground. Many touches will be made to this film in post. Remember Sasha Calle and her set photos.

The suit is like a modern version of Kirk Alyn's suit from the 40's his suit wasn't skintight. TheTruth31 said it looking like cosplay is a complement and it looks like a suit than most Superman suits.

Everything with the suit is perfect for me the colours, design etc except how high the neck part is personally for me they should have stuck with the low neck part like the Henry Cavil suit and the bagginess but that might not be a huge issue as it could be fixed via vfx but in general I live it and I'm so happy they are bringing back the logo on the cape it's been too long.

Thank you for bringing up the post on the suit. First off, they'll film it at more flattering angles. Secondly, they absolutely designed it like this for David to have more range. I think you're exactly right about that. It's so easy to get rid of the slight bagginess in post. Even still, I think tye suot is gorgeous. They look like they lept from a comic panel.

I absolutely agree that they will tighten the suit via CG in post. Great examples given on how Spider Man and Black Panther did the same. David worked way too hard to bulk up for the part only to cover him up. I believe in post, they'll modify it to better highlight his physic. Aside from that common observation, I like this look much better than the first reveal. Love the vibrant colors, the shorts, and I like much better (though not totally satisfied) that his neck isn't as covered up as I originally thought. I still prefer an open neck for Superman.

I see people don’t like the trunks on the suit, I even hear them say they look like adult diapers. But to me i just don’t see it. Personally I like the classic Superman suit. I sorta wished they took more inspiration from the rebirth era of DC comics especially with the suit instead of the New 52 like how Cavill’s suit was inspired by the New 52. Yeah suit looks okay for the most part, but I’m mostly looking for if Superman will be more of the aspirational hero that he’s supposed to be instead of the one from the DCEU. Time will tell.

So you labeled the video of "AMAZING" Superman set photos, and yet it's far from amazing, isn't it? It's quite underwhelming, as you yourself mention it looking like a bad fit cosplay or Halloween costume. You keep hoping they'll "fix it in post" but why do we need CGI to fix a costume that should have done well from the start and could have been an amazing practical effect? You keep saying you hope they'll fix it in post, you hope it will look amazing and you're sure Gunn will make it look good good through the camera, but what is that high degree of certainty and optimism based on? To me it all points to it ending up looking like a rough GOTG uniform, or like one of the bad CGI looking MCU suits of late.

I always believed when we saw more of the suit we'd get more used to it and I'm glad it seems I was right. The 'bagginess' doesn't really bother me as, again it's loose enough for the actor to move in, but also does look like it fits where it needs to. And again, I'm getting the feel that they'll have him say this is a suit his mother made for him. Not to mention if you look at certain comic art, specifically the art of Frank Quitely in 'All Star Superman', the suit regularly rumples and wrinkles in certain panels. And since Gunn is using so much of that book it makes sense he'd want the suit to be a little like how it is in the comic as well. Yes I'm sure it'll look tucked up in post but I'm just saying we can't fault it for trying to be true to the mythology.

Canonical does not mean good. The suit looks as cheap as possible, like a show on the CW, and the red underpants look ridiculous in modern realities. Thank God my childhood fell on 2000-2010 when comic book movies tried to land and adapt for general audience trying to be more mature and serious.

It looks awful 🤮🤮🤮, I despise the trunks, and I grew up with Reeves' tv series and with Reeve's movies. Nostalgia is killing movies. MoS set the bar so high, that we can see in real time it cannot be matched or surpassed, especially by #JamesGunn. #ZackSnyder and #HenryCavill gave us epicness. #HenryCavillSuperman looked great on how the suit fitted him on the set pics while filming. You could see he was ripped. Not for me , but glad there will be an audience for this.

Great suite looks more comicbook accurate, but I do agree with you on the wrinkles/baggie look in the arms of the suite , but I am glad that you mention or did the comparison of the black panther look that works for me and I really hope Gunn fix. BTW I do also think that Magnus is not going to like this because he is obviously a Henry Cavill, Man of steel he hasn't moved on from Snyder.

I gave this suit the benefit of the doubt when the first image appeared because I figured it’ll look better in cleaner images. But after seeing what it looks like close up in better lighting, I have to agree that this looks like a cosplay costume. The red underwear doesn’t help. This ain’t the 1930s. Why do you all always bring up the 30s? Sure, that’s where they originated, but there have been superhero suits with trunks all throughout the 20th century and into the 21st. X-Men characters had them up until the 00s, Batman had them in the 00s after a few years without, Superman had them all the way up till 2011, and now both Batman and Superman have them again in the comics. The point is the trunks aren’t just of the early 20th century.
