New Amp Day: Bray Coco 50 doing some Van Halen, testing it straight out of the box

Just took delivery, took it out of the box, grabbed guitar and plugged in. Should be able to get closer with some tweaking. Guitar is not really ideal for VH tones Suhr Classic S with Suhr SSV. Have to say sounds great though.

Sounds great! A lot of the coco clips I've heard are kind of ice picky but this is smoother. What speakers were used?

If I remember correctly it was my EVH 412 with the 20 watt EVH heritage greenbacks. It can be a bright amp indeed. Doesn’t work with 212s very well due to this in my opinion. I ended up selling it but was a great amp.

Are you able to get the 'tone' at reasonable volume levels? Is that what the ‘quieter’ knob is for? Sounds great like all the others! Congratulations! Super fun to play I bet…

Quieter can be just that, set for lower volumes or act as a volume aka solo boost (not gain, but output). And yes you can get “the tone” at mouse fart volumes but it is a little more compressed at those levels but still remains chewy and alive sounding. It has some strange, to my mind, terminology for the features like “gangster” for its higher gain boost. Which is a mode that automatically maxes out volume I and turns off Volume II like a 4 hole plexi but this is internally jumped, so you get two volumes (pregain) and high and low inputs. Output is your PPIV master volume.
