Railfanning in La Grange, IL including the new Amtrak Acela set heading to Colorado for testing, and two chargers on the California Zephyr, which is the first time that chargers have been used on a revenue long distance train.

3:05 that's probably the most loaded centerbeams I've ever seen on one train! 3:47 That's how I figured the long-distance chargers would look like, minus the Midwest logos. Nice to see an extra baggage car on a normal superliner consist Although Amtrak is upgrading their equipment, Metra still uses the F40PHs, which I am glad they still do.

Metra is in the business of moving the people. You get flat spots. Same as amtrak

Why are they allowed to proceed through those crossing without blowing their whistle? I've never seen that before in my life in the U.S.

MIght be something called a quiet zone. Trains won't blow the horn for the road crossing in that case. Based on the amount of traffic flow people in those apartments probably had something to do with it.

The trainsets are named “Avelia Liberty”, the service they will run is the Acela Express.
