You compare this to 500 to 600 dollar vacuums. This is a budget model. You state they are similar in price range. 400 to 500 isn’t similar. Granted it does what it does. It won’t clean the sides, battery etc. It’s 159 bucks. What do you expect. You really slammed this unit. Your entire review sounds like you are vendetta against the company. When people are shopping in this price range you should compare to models that are closer in price.

These leak water inside to the control board, battery and motors. Mine was 1 WEEK out of warranty and they basically said 'tough luck' and offered me $30 off of a replacement. So I took it apart. There was water inside - on the control board, and obvious corrosion on the motor sides. And get this - there was a silica gel packet inside, that had absorbed so much moisture that it fell apart and the gel came out. To me, that packet indicated that Aiper KNEW there was a moisture problem. I left it open in my garage for 3 days to dry out. Now it powers up fine, where as before opening it up, I was getting random, red & blue blinking LEDs. I am going to try to seal it up better than the cheapo rubber gasket that the Chinese used. I considered adding a drain plug to let it dry out, but there's not a whole lot of room left inside the housing. Avoid at all costs!

I took this apart 3 different times and set it by the dehumidifier for 3 days each time and sealed it with military 8802 proseal the first time and aquarium silicone the second and third time. I do this kind of work for a living so i am very thorough when it comes to cleaning, prepping , and sealing. I have done a leak test on the plastic tub. I found some small leaks on the base behind the screw holes so i paid close attention to that area while sealing it. No leaks through the charging port. I am lost and can not find any more leaks but i am still getting the error after about 15-30 seconds under water. I am defeated and now i see why Aiper is still putting out a known leaker because they most likely have no idea where it is coming from. Other than the leak i give it at least 4.5 stars for the price.

@@bleeke69 Good luck. I did pretty much what you did as far as sealing it up. I got the same short run time as you. I suspect possibly where the motor shafts protrude through the plastic. I added a bit of silicon to try to stop any possible water leakage at that point but it still failed. It's a poor design. If you pop the circuit board off, look on the back. There are 2 large round conductive areas. I suspect these are how the unit detects water intrusion. The conductivity of the water completes the circuit between the 2 sensors and alerts the control circuitry of water intrusion. That might be a place to start. Maybe disable those? I don't think I'm tearing it apart again, at least not any time soon.

Your comparing a 150 above ground pool cleaner to "comparable" 499 dolphin cleaner im not sure how thats a comparable price.. but my aipre works well for the dust i need it to pick up in my area and it tends to run for about 90 mins

great details, thank you! However, the Cayman and Escape appear to be entirely different price points. The Seagull SE is going for ~$170 and both of these other models go for $700-$800

Just tried Seagull Plus on my above ground 24 x 15. Pool started out pretty clean. Constantly getting stuck. Failed to cover all areas of pool. Watched it pass over same area of pool floor THREE TIMES, that had a bit of sand/dirt, did not pick up. Save your money, Do it right. Vacuum manually.

How can you say the aiper is around the same price as any dolphin. The dolphin e10 is $799CAD and the aiper is $329CAD. Is it really not worth $300? Does it vacuum and clean at all?
@ThePoolNerd Жыл бұрын
The Aiper has an extremely weak motor and battery which pushes it around the pool. While it can grab some small items, it does so by just aimlessly wondering over it and without any active scrubbing. The difference is extreme. The Dolphin and other brands (Polaris / Aquabot also) use motors that are directly driven and filter over 4000 GPH+. While there has been a price increase since this video was launched, it is still well worth the premium for an corded cleaner such as the Dolphin Escape or Dolphin Cayman. They outperform the Aiper in every category. It’s a world of a difference. I’d highly recommend trying one of the Dolphins if you get the chance. My personal favorites are the Dolphin Escape and Cayman that I mentioned. Even if you don’t go with Dolphin, definitely don’t go cordless. The technology just doesn’t seem to be there yet in my testing sadly, but hopefully it will get better!

This was a horrible comparison for @thepoolnerd to use. A cayman is $800 and the Aiper is $200 right now. I would hope the dolphin is a better cleaner.
@drewellis4313 Жыл бұрын
Why would you compare a $200 aiper to a vacuum that’s 4x the price when you could compare the $800 aiper pro? Seems like this is just an add for dolphin pool cleaners

Yeah, i went to check and dolphin is 3x costier. 900 vs 300 for the aiper...

I purchased an Aiper SE with an extended warranty for about $230 and i am at month 15 and i just put it in the pool for the second time this season and got a "submersed" error and im waiting to hear back from them to see if i can do a repair myself or do i need to wait 3 months to get a replacement from china. I have a 15' round intex and this vacuum did a really good job leaving no debris behind. Amazon does sell refurbished models for $109 so i may buy one of those in the meantime. Has anyone tried repairing the submersed motor?
@BarryLeveritte6 ай бұрын
Tried to find a company that would fix the motor, but cost 100 dollars, nothing cheaper than that, Aiper offered $30 off a replacement. I still have to clean the corners of my pool.

I ended up getting a full refund from the third party 3 year warranty so i tried the scuba and it does not pick up more than 10% of what is on the bottom. I may go with a refurbished seagul se.@BarryLeveritte

It's designed to clean flat bottom pools. It's in the literature. You give it a poor review on something it is not designed to do. Like buying a manual car and then complaining you have to push a clutch.

I bought mine in August 2023, just used it one month. 2024. Used it less than a month in April, and the vacuum no longer keeping a charge. I charge it for 2 hours shows fully charged, but will only last about 20 minutes and it stops. What a scam.
