5 MONTH UPDATE: I am no longer recommending the Wybot S2 Pro. After 5 months in my pool the plastic and rubber parts have experienced significant degradation and it can no longer properly dock with the charging station. The Wybot S2 itself is an excellent cleaner and is probably still my recommendation for pools that need fine filtration, but you should just get the Wybot S2 (amzn.to/4glJ0Pn) which is removed from the pool between cleanings and not the S2 Pro.

I got the Crab because of you (hopefully nobody has ever said those words to you before now haha). It does a great job, especially considering it's almost 75% of the cost of the winner here. My moms pool was neglected, algae growing the the floors and walls, and we just power-washed the paver-patio surrounding it so there was a LOT of debris in there. I watched it go over the debris field and thought i'd be sending it back, but it did it. In one cleaning it got about 85% of the debris and algae cleared up, by the second run, the pool looked GREAT!

I just ordered the Crab, it arrived in a few days. I got it for $360 on amazon with a $140 off coupon & then only paid $60+ tax, since I had $300 in rewards points. I can’t wait to try it out! I bought the Aiper S1 from Amazon because I wanted a cordless unit and the price seemed worth trying it out since I can just erturn it if not satisfied. So far I am really impressed despite the random paths. We have a large flat area and then sloping walls all around to the deep end (it struggles a bit on sloped corners. It always picks up all of the leaf and similar debris and a good portion of silt (which has been significant lately with a lot of rain and wind in our area). I didn’t find that the powerful pump discharge pushes the bottom debris about enough to make it significant. It’s light and easy to fish out of the pool (it drives itself to a wall and stops). It re-charges in about a 4 hour period (but I never clean more than once a day and normally every two days depending on pool use). I wouldn’t use a pool robot for opening cleaning, and I find a proper vacuum brush head cleaning makes th efloor less slippery (despite it looking clean). The wall cleaning action works quite well, and will most certainly inhibit algae growth as it’s action moves fresh chlorinated water around into what is usually a stangant layer against the walls (where algae would normally take hold). Overall I am quite impressed and happy with the Aiper Scuba S1, and ultimately glad I didn’t purchase the heavier Aiper Scuba S1 Pro (although I would have IF we had a pool bigger than our 16 x 16 x 34’ L-shaped pool. (I considered the Polaris Freedom as well, but could not justify the extra cost when manually vacuuming our small inground pool doesn’t take that long (we started using a concrete roller and brush rectangle type wide head for daily cleaning prior to the robot as it allows a much faster quick vacuum on our vinyl pool than our regular triangular brush vacuum head which I used for a heavier cleaning every couple of weeks). Now I pop the Scuba S1 into the pool each morning and spend more time swimming in the afternoons instead of cleaning.

I bought the Seauto Seal after watching you previous video. It worked well for half a season in my little Amazon pool. Now that I have a large real pool it lasted two weeks before one of the track motors broke. I managed to talk to someone at Seauto who told me to send a video of it going in circles. That was early May and haven’t heard anything since 🤦🏻♂️

That's disappointing, they are supposed to have a 2 year warranty. Unfortunately when I made the video last year they had great warranty service and even a phone number based in California. That phone number now automatically disconnects, and emails are sporadic. Something fishy definitely happened because Maytronics (Dolphin) is now selling the Seauto Seal under their own name for considerably more money: amzn.to/3xKJ0rx At least with Maytronics you know they will honor warranty.
@yokhandukhin89883 ай бұрын
Exactly the same happened to me. Seauto Seal worked perfectly for about 8 month, then it just stopped working. Was having conversation with customer support for about 1 month with no success, they asked me to send a video and order details which I did twice, and then just stopped answering my emails. Indeed their phone never worked as well. I pushed Amazon and was able to get a refund. Also looking to their social platforms (fb and insta) we can see tons of comments about not answering emails and phone calls. They are complete scammers. Would never recommend this brand to anyone.

As I mentioned, the filter has pretty small holes and is easily clogged. The Beatbot has a suction power draw monitor and will stop cleaning if the bin is clogged, which would be very often in a pool that dirty. Unfortunately the Beatbot should have the ability to go to the surface and connect to WiFi to send error notifications, but it doesn't and instead it just stops cleaning and sits on the bottom of the pool until you fish it out.

Have you updated the firmware on any of the units before testing? I just bought an Aiper S1 Pro and did a firmware update (from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1) and found the navigation capabilities far superior to before the update. Before it would always get stuck at the stairs because when going down the last step, it always "fell" back to the same spot so it did the same spot over and over again. After the update it managed to get on after 2-3 attempts and also had a satisfying close overlap when cleaning the walls. Very satisfied with the unit now!

A very thorough section of reviews thank you. Thought i'd add some comments re my experience of one of these: Have recently purchase the Scuba 1 Pro and it cannot do everything that the manufacturers at Aiper and a lot of these "Review" clips claim. It cannot handle relatively mild changes in pool gradient at all, and apparently (according to their customer service team) it doesn't work as expected with smooth materials. It certainly doesn't work with my standard ceramic pool tiles, even though they are 15 years old and anything but smooth! Wall cleaning mode struggles with the pool gradient and cannot advance along the wall, apparently because my pool has slightly rounded pool transitions from floor to wall. And it doesn't always manage to dock at the pool edges when the battery runs down. And finally, I think that their customer service team is an AI platform (and a poor one at that), as they appear to answer all questions with common (sometimes irrelevant) answers, and do not try to reach any sort of resolution other than to update the firmware again (even if you've clearly stated that it is up to date). Or that the machine seems to be operating correctly!

Insane Scientific video! I luv it! 🤌** non disputable**. Thank you! Thank you ! Thank you! You saved me from having to watch countless hours of KZbin Videos. After watching your video, there was NO need to search any further. I particularly liked how you did not point to one specific cleaner, but had various charts and consideration topics : cost, weight, ease of use, etc. For me, it was price, good pool coverage, and customer service. So instead of the Seaauto Seal or Crab, I used your link (hope you get the credit) and bought the Aiper S1😃

Can you get an extra filter cartridge for the wybot & change out the cartridge from docking station in pool so you never have to remove it from docking station?
@TheHookUp6 ай бұрын
I don't see it on their website, but you could probably call them to buy that part.

The Lydsto P1 corded is down to below $500 now. Does Lydsto have ultra fine filter options?

How about the Dolpin Liberty 200? Trying to compare that to the Aiper s1

This is a great video. Thanks all the way from Australia. It's been hard to get a honest review on the aiper as they are new here, but this really tipped me to get an S1. Some really good information 👌

I'm from Oz, in Torquay Vic, I had the Aiper Seagull Pro, ended up getting a refund as it would not climb any walls, especially if they gentle slope and are tiled. Hopefully the Scuba S1 is better. Couldn't fault it's cleaning ability, except for the walls and waterline.

@Only5yards thanks for the info. I have heard some previous models had a few issues. I ran the S1 for the first time yesterday and it did a bloody good job. I know having full battery is key to climbing walls. Time will tell if it's up to the job long term.

My pool has a 12 foot deep dive well and multiple shelves attached to it that are anywhere from 3.5 to 5 feet in depth. Will the Polaris freedom handle the floors on these different depths? And will it clean 12 foot walls? I bought the Aiper and it only does 10 ft depth so had to send it back.
@TheHookUp4 ай бұрын
I don't have a 12ft deep section to test that with, but since the Freedom is using minimal sensors compared to the Aiper S1 Pro I'm guessing it would work without any issues.
