I had been wondering about Natti’s apartment and when we’d be seeing Ian the builder again. The clear out must have felt like a weight lifted! Saving stuff for just in case can be a life saver in times of need but it can also become a heavy burden. Hello Chateau gang great to see you all enjoying life and Happy New Year to you all I live not far from you in the Vienne south of Poitiers . You reminded me that we need to do some decluttering next month after 7 yrs living here we need to clear out and tidy up. Most of our renovation are completed now on the house just starting to go around the house looking at where we need to paint and freshen up . We are not on such a grand scale as you we have a large farm house in 5 acre next to the house and a further 5.5 acre of wood land close by..

Percy and Isabelle are couple goals, so heartwarming and adorable. A great stash of furniture and treasures for the chateau, can't wait to see it all put into place. It's equally fun to see the destashing, makes me want to destash my own home. Hoping to get my legs working again to do that job. It's often difficult to let go of things that once gave you joy. I have an old English friend in my village, I translate for her as in 25 years she never learnt French. She is a hoarder, books and clothes and her large house is full, her garage-s are full, her basement is full. She asked me to find someone to build a small extension for her, I said no ! These days I buy something I give something, slowly improving, it's a slippery slope and I do watch the TV show on YT 'Hoarders' to prevent me from one day being a hoarder ! That said, tomorrow we are off to Emmaus !

I have the same cast iron daybed sitting in my garden for the moment. It used to be in my father in laws home on the Rue de Cherche Midi, it had red heavy sating mattress and bolsters with a greek key ribbon trim. Thinking of taking it in to use as a sofa in front of the TV which I don't use but guests sometimes do. Mine is painted black but I'm sure that under that paint is something much nicer like yours ! xo

I’ve been wondering for a long time what happened to Ian the contractor. I know Ian the plasterer is no longer with us but the main contractor Ian!? He seemed to always be around working. I know there is a new handy man who is camera shy so I understand those tasks being shown later soon completion. I hope general contractor/ pastry deliverer/ husband of the small local shop owner is ok. I do miss him!
