If you played on the map for 3 months it’s like 17 cents a day it’s nothing. Mod developers actually getting the money they deserve from the hard work that they put in is amazing. At the end of the day they don’t need to be doing any of this but they do it because they love the game and love seeing people enjoying the stuff they make and nobody should feel forced to do that stuff for free

People blow 100$ every 6 months to a year for every new cod, forza, fifa whatever. Since ase released in 2014 i have spent 175$ on ARK. So 17.50$ a year basically. I have 0 issue paying for new content in a game that has kept me entertained for a decade😊

My issue is them peddling a new map that by WC’s own statements it isn’t a finished product to get quick cash, when there are plenty of issues plaguing Ab and Extinction that have been largely ignored. Additionally the fact that their game servers supposedly can’t support the classic versions of event rates, and the weekend ASE like evo event rates have been discussed as over stressing the servers is another massive issue. It is odd to me that these unofficial servers have no issue with boosted rates but official is unable to handle it At some point the dam is going to break and the community go elsewhere. I fully understand Rome wasn’t built in a day but it sure feels like every statement made by WC about ASA turns on be nothing but hot air.

If the game actually worked, it wouldn't be an issue. $14.99 is very reasonable. That's comparable to Season Battle Passes on other games. That's half of what Blackcell costs per season in COD. Cost per hour played, Ark is still the cheapest game I've ever owned. Problem is it's broken AF.

For me its not about the money, its about the fact that the Ark is still broken and still having tons of issues, Bobs tails is a paid DLC and it no where near what is advertised, you cant even use half of what you paid for. Let them first remove all the problems from the game, ark for ps5 does not work, you can better play ark survival evolution than ark survival adventuring for the ps 5, only errors and game crashes, let them respond to the errors, then throw all new maps in the game

When I saw the recommended gpu cpu i fell out off my chair and rolled on the floor. There was a french vid about ASA I remember commenting on back then saying it's worse in every aspect. Detailing why you shouldnt buy it etc with my modding knowledge and all. The channel owner answered my comment saying "you are just raging because you are too poor to buy the game and the pc" Lol. These guys truly believe it's a good game. And they're the reason gaming is in coma since 2016's Game's worse than ASE gameplay wise, literally a scam in terms of price/was supposed to be a free upgrade + worse aesthetically/30fps on 5k€ setup But hey it's new and textures are upscaled. That's what matters right? Shiny objects and fancy water. Millions of rock on the beach. Yeah. I guess it's some kind of enjoyment of rich people I am too poor to understand. I think the way things keep changing, for instance, changing engines and being able to increase map sizes. I think paying a little more is acceptable. Just increasing sizes means doing even more work overall. Still way better than many other game dlc prices.

Just for context the author of the mod map, nekatus, it may seem like he gets 50% but there is a stipulation that, if it is for console as well there is a 30% charge off that 50% that any authors will make if it is on cross platform. So if someone has to sell a map at $10 they wouldn’t get five dollars for every sale. They would only get 3.50, not to mention any taxes they may have pay at the end of the year

The map needs a oficail dino exclusive to the map like all the new remastered maps to give the map its draw. I think it might soften the knock to someone's wallet if thay had a reason to be there despite the maps size

Dom you are right it’s way to pricey the astrio’s map. Plus on the Xbox series S the mod map Atlantis and tempered lagoon doesn’t even launch. The game keep crashing. So I bought 2 maps that doesn’t even work WTH is going on. They shouldn’t launch ark acended for the Xbox series S because my console can’t handle it

Don't mind paying, what annoys me is the lack of fixing and support. Mana? still stuck on air, Gachas? still spawning in the mesh? OSD? 2 hostiles remaining, corrupted reapers? Burying around forever , the armored rigs? are there still going under the mesh and also gone missing ? Ticket support? still down and the map full of thousands of asian pillars selling land and dinos. Meshing? new content in extinction to tame gachas, and wildcard? FIXED AND EXPLOIT , also the Gene tracker is pretty annoying in new maps, the Mana's , giga's or carcha, was a drama grieffing fest everytime 1spawned, 50 people recording each other and claiming they got there first. Plus click join simulator forever.

There is a second aspect to this particular Mod. If you go back and look at what Nekatus had said about it, is that this was supposed to have a more primitive feel to it, custom mini bosses and creatures etc. By turning it into official DLC, effectively he has altered the original vision for it, shoehorning Extinction reskins and element veins in an attempt to make the offering look feature rich early access for the asking price. IMO they've ruined the original concept and promise for a quick cash in. Perhaps this is the bigger disappointment for me in addition to the absurd milking we're getting for a glitchy mess in early access.

I think it's perfectly fine that they charge per map. they spend a lot of time and energy creating new maps. and in the times we live in, not everything can be free, it costs to live. I don't think $15 is a lot, it's a very real price in my opinion. I would like to think that if they had been paid more in the game, and they had made a little more money, then I would like to think that the game would have become much better even faster because then they get a kick that they make money and then everything is easier for the companies. that's my opinion.

You could still bring the dlc dinos to other official maps but they cant be found wild. Being able to be attacked by but unable to tame a wild dino on a free map is ludicrous. Listen think about it!! Pay 15$ for a map you won't be able to get on because there won't be enough servers. To further prove my point there's still about 20 expiring extinction servers mid February. Where are they going to flock?? It won't be to the non expiring ones as they're all usually 60-70/70 online and heavily pillared.

Hey Loaded, love your content. Also, please make a video so that Ark could release the dragon in dragon kingdom mod, on official astreos map. Im tired of wyverns and crystal wyverns, basically look the same. And then again they are wyverns so i guess we still have no official dragons in game. We need more variety of wyvs and dragons and would be nice to have new ones on such a big beautiful map. Maybe they will hear you out this time as well. For those who do not know of that mod go check it out, super cool dragons i tell you. I wouldnt even mind if they released it as a fantastic tame even though we would have to pay another 5. People will complain, but pay it regardless once they see it.

@ rag didn't start finished- they added the desert later. it all depends on how long it is until the rest of the map comes out- if its a year thats not great, but if its comes out in chunks over a few months thats no issue. new bosses, new mini bosses, new caves even if the entire map is unfinished - wonderful. we live in the era of the complaint like it has any meaning _ complain complain complain - its optional you don't have to buy it- you don't have to play it, you can wait till its finished before buying if you want to. you don't have to buy it now- but when its finishe the price will probably jump up higher. I don't mind beta testing it for peanuts

Asterous is NOT worth 15 dollars. It's a great map. Pretty. But no creatures. Diversity is not great. Please don't take this as a cut on the work that was done on the map, but I'd rather play free maps and let this map go.

It would make more sense for Wildcard/Snail to purchase these maps directly from the modder and keep the modder in the loop for fixes etc, kind of like a sub contractor. People have spent so much over the years ok Ark myself included. They just don't do a good enough job to receive anymore income from me. I've stepped away from the game since pryomaine dropped and not missing it in the slightest if I'm honest as other games in the survival realm have caught up and now exceeding Ark. Is a shame and will always have a place in my heart. But if I am going to play anytime soon it will be on switch only where we have access to the majority of og maps and still a level playing field on pvp with official servers running

I don't think the price matters for most. I've done commissions, and different types of online work. Once you offer something for free, you'll never be received well for selling anything. That's just how it works. They coulda sold it for 5 bucks, and people would be reeeing. Wether the price they are asking for is actually too high or not doesn't actually have much weight in a majority of the crying. Just rip the bandaid off.

Tell me why something like skyblivion is free but this asshole made a greek themed ark map and hes a god that deserves a gold medal. If you, bethesda, and wildcard think they deserve money so bad send them some weekly where they already get paid patreon! If you really want to be real keep a running tally of the total price of asa and all dlc on the screen at all times with a little clip with the post about asa was gonna be a free upgrade! It has 3 or 4 mods that go with it. Greek inspired armor skins, structure skin, a trireme ship, and a mythological creatures mod. He kept them separated because they all work on other maps. The ship is huge and leads don't attack it

EVERY MAP In ASA Comes Premium no one wants to make any FREE maps everything has a pricetag. I will be supporting but the direction ASA is going in is sickening. Every single map has a pricetag so if there are 30 maps we are suppose to buy all 30 for $10 to $15 now that's sick.
