Thank you for the unboxing and the introduction. Understandable why you sound excited about this game. Word has it that the print run is only 800. Interesting how much it nods to 'Wellington's Victory', from the font to the same 'WV' construction. I found the original SPI version of 'Wellington's Victory' to be excellent in its day, and perhaps this is a bit of a return to the same elegance in design.

This seems so cool, but in Europe the price is so steep. And it seems the One from Sound of drums is going to be way more playable and more affordable. Still tempted though...

~~~~Jealous~~~. Mine was supposed to arrive today, but just incurred a delay on account of the rotten weather we've had the past week. Just keep twisting that knife!!! 😆 That map looks HUUUUUUGE!!! And the components look delectable. Matte finished counters: yes sir, sign me up!!! Mostly looking forward to seeing how NES adapts the old SPI Wellington's Victory system. It's a good thing that I can see a few unboxings on KZbin, so that when my copy arrives I won't drool uncontrollably on the contents of my box!!! 24:11: Those are artillery crews. You were correct a few seconds back in thinking the horn icon on the skirmishers was for the Light Bns, which can break down totally into skirmisher "clouds", whereas the regular "NATO symbol" skirms are for regular infantry Bns, which can only disgorge ONE skirmisher company each ... and only that if they haven't lost any manpower!

Kudos to NES for putting .pdf copies of the (living) rules up on their site. I appreciate the head start on this layered, nuanced system. I can already see some really nice, and subtle modifications to skirmisher units, target classes, target hex classes that look very welcome at first glance. Even some changes to the movement within or near a cavalry zone had been updated. It's no longer that s-l-o-o-o-w-w-w-w-e-d d-d-d-d-o-o-o-o-w-w-w-w-n temporal effect within the zone! 😆

Mine finally arrived, 5 days after the original delivery date was mysteriously pushed back. It was worth the wait: this is a plush, deluxe package that I can't wait to dive into!!! Now, where's that Vassal module???

Maps got to big of a footprint for most players. Half inch hexes and half inch counters would of been better, there is no reason why it couldn't have been done on two maps, that's the downside for me, but the components are beautiful.
