The one benefit of "Mofi Gate"....tapes, Pressings and long out of print releases....are suddenly available again...🤔 Remember kids...Digital files will always be ready to press new copies..never fall for the limited release or limited quantities...it will ALWAYS be available at some point in time...be patient, you will get a copy eventually 👍💯

You completely misunderstand the Mo Fi issue which had more to do with the marketing department than the quality of the finished product; when you have tapes that are as old as the Thriller tapes there are going to be small segments that can’t be replicated so they digitally inserted and upgraded the degraded spots. It did not impact the amazing quality of the finished product which is not to say Mo Fi should have let consumers know. The Dire Straights album Brothers in Arms was 100 percent digital and it’s probably one of the finest recordings ever made. But people who listen to the Mo Fi recordings and try to say they can tell the digital from the other segments are simply full of shit.

The Velvet Underground Fully Re-Loaded vinyl boxset was released nearly a year ago, in March 2023. The Bluesville series says all analog depending on where you read, pressed at QRP, tip-on jackets with obi.

The Hootie and Matchbox 20 releases from AP are amazing. I know they're both almost 30 years old at this point, but it's so nice to have something that isn't jazz or classic rock (even though I love them!) be given the AP treatment. I wish we'd see more of that. I know what I'm about to say is ridiculous, but I have a huge love for modern pop music. Even if it wasn't recorded digitally, it'd be nice to see an actual high-quality release of some of my favorite pop albums. Taylor Swift UHQR when?! LOL

@@bigdaddylongnut I have the 20th anniversary version of M20's album that's on red vinyl. The AP version blows it away in every aspect, but that's not surprising. The album sounds better on Spotify than the red wax version, it's a really poor pressing.

I picked that up too. Not surprised. Anyway, the SB has been mixing in legacy acts with more current pop acts for years. Wasn’t just a legacy act every year. Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, now Usher, etc etc. Guess Mike didn’t watch the game those years.

Yes, they do. I have all the Japanese SACD-SHM titles shown on this video and they play perfectly well when I listen to them in my car CD player. Needless to say, I prefer listening to them on my SACD player in my quiet listening room.

I don’t think they’ve “dropped” anything. They go with what’s popular. They’ve already done all the legacy acts and until a new rock act impacts the zeitgeist like many of the popular pop music acts has, they won’t be on there. You may not like it, but they’re going with who’s hot. Usher just had 2 Vegas residencies that sold out every night and is set to do a huge tour. He’s about as hot as you can get right now.
