Grit, rock, and sand will destroy just about anything it comes in contact with. Even the real desert trucks can't withstand that environment. I applaud your tenacity in finding a remedy. An obvious design flaw doesn't help. Engineers make mistakes too. Good engineers fix their mistakes and good companies make it right with customers. Oh wait, that's a perfect world and we know that doesn't exist. Common folk find their own fixes and good folk pass it on to others. Thanks for your due diligence. I believe you have found a real remedy.

Way cool what you did for that kid I hope he gets into the hobby. I hope your repair works I can see why they funneled the hole to make the body easier to put on but obviously never tested it they need you to be a product tester. The Promoto was bang on Arrma I dont know whats up, my 8s Outcast bent an axle and broke the front bumper mount first time out wasnt even bashing hard this is supposed to handle way worse than what I gave it.

Looks promising. I've run a couple more packs through mine with the drilled holes and it's doing fine as well. Maybe not quite as free as yours but I think the terrain I'm bashing is also a bit dustier. I Saw someone else comment that greasing the pins fixed the problem and I've also had multiple people tell me that the problem solves itself over time.

Good suggestion from whomever advised the solution. I been using the acquired size O-Rings to get the body slop out of my rc's for a while already and it helps cushion it as well and don't have to worry about losing my non teathered body pins. Great vid as always!! 🛻💨🏁👍

to be honest Earl when they first released pictures of the new Mojave genuinely my only concern was the steering..... With the 3s senton all sorts of debris gets into the servo area which results in only steering one direction which is a complete pain and I seen the same kinda setup on this and was seriously hoping the Mojave was going to be different 😢..... I can live with the post thing but that servo.... And it only seems to happen when the RC is 100 yards away 😂😅.... Gee I don't know. And I've one on order. Thanks for the testing bro really appreciate it. ❤

Maybe apply a small dab of silicone grease to each hole before operating it in that type of environment. The grease will capture any fine particulate matter and the post will certainly slide right out. Just a thought. It's easy to cleanup too with a q-tip swab when you're done playing.

My guess is that they tapered the holes to help align the posts easier when installing the body, they either didn’t notice the effect it had after running in dirt. Too bad we as consumers have to come up with our own fixes for brand new R/C, but that’s also a part of the hobby, troubleshooting . Good video 👍

Yes but adding a post that tapered locks into the hole is the issue one of them shouldn’t grab the other either flat on chassis or flat washer on post

Hey Earl! Nice quick fix for the body sticking issues! I think I'd just fill those funnels up with hot glue level and drill them out one size bigger then the posts and put a Oring on the stud. 🤔😉👍💯✔️👋👋👋👋 Great letting the little run the truck! Its all about throttle Control buddy!😉

Looks like the steering is similar to the senton and other 3s cars? I've had good luck covering the area around the servo and it has helped a lot to prevent the steering from jamming. I found that rocks drop down in front of the servo and lock it up.

I received email from arrma and this is what they said Thank you for following up with me, A solution to remedy this is to drill out the hole for the four body post just a little bit larger so the dirt can't wedge in and make it to tight to be able to remove the body. You need to use a 3/8 Drill bit ARRMA have seen an issue where the body on the MOJAVE 4S can get stuck on the chassis when used in sandy environments. For customers with existing chassis the issue can be alleviated by opening the holes in the chassis to 10mm / 3/8” with a suitable drill. I hope this information helps. Same email was sent to me just a different person but as I told them in my reply if you drill it to 10MM the post on the side will rest on the chassis the Email did state for me to sand the post as well but I sent photos showing how this creates a worse issue 👍

Widen the body Mount hole. One of the new channels ran it maybe 2 days ago and he had the same problem and couldn’t get the body off he just drilled a slightly bigger hole into the body post.

Awesome job yet again troubleshooting and testing! Do you think it may have been better if they put the posts on the chassis and the holes in the body instead like the Fireteam? I agree with you that the posts should maybe be shorter, OR, maybe the holes in the chassis should be in thinner plastic so it makes less of a tube for the posts.

Not being stiff enough, are there Arma Springs suitable for the Typhon's success, and will they hold it up? When I run my 6S battery in it. The front drops. Don't talk about a quarter inch off the ground. The front end looks like a low rider. My shock wall is thicker than stock. But I believe it's a Spring issue. My oil is bigger than stock. I believe it's a Spring issue. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah It can be pretty frustrating. I've had a couple of times where just the right size piece of gravel gets in there and I've actually had to disassemble it to get it back out again.

Wow, I wouldn't get anywhere near it. No car is worth it. Of course the only 1,000 dollar car I have is a fully custom Redcat Rampage and it runs on gasoline and double A's. And it's more like 2,000 dollars. I didn't trust electric back then. I saw an Apple laptop go up once, and it almost burned the house down. It basically exploded, but that's ION, like EV's. Not LIPO. I've been in this RC game for about 40 years on and off (I'm 66) and never had a LIPO fire. I guess I'm lucky. I had a couple of cheap batteries bloat, threw them out and stopped buying cheap batteries. I have about 20 big packs and they're all Spektrum or Hexfly. I've smashed a few to death, but they don't even get warm, just dead. I've always used balance chargers, except in the ancient times before they were invented. But most vehicles were nitro back then. LIPO's didn't exist. LIPO's are a fairly new technology. You must know this, I heard you tell a lady you've been in this for 30 years. How old are you? It was my understanding that balance charging is the key. LIPO fires these days are very rare. If they weren't, Amazon and UPS wouldn't be shipping them. I just came across your video regarding this. How did you get the 1/4" washers on the posts? I tried the same with mine but the ID of the washers is way too small to fit it on the post. Can you shed some light on how to do this?
