Well, I mean, in my pt's he's right, he is ALWAYS on my team and we don't really care about anyone else. Also, they would all absolutely be nothing (either ded or squid) w/o Tav (and emperor).

Another great vid, thank you! I adore AA, my character felt he was far more genuine when Ascended, than insecure/uncomfortable with his feelings as spawn. (That's how my Tav saw him, everyone else is free to interpret differently according to the character they created) ♥

I agree with you! Neil, his voice actor, said himself that when he was acting both spawn and lord astarion he was instructed that spawn is hiding his true feelings behind a mask and lord astarion is being his most genuine self.

I am personally not a fan of AA. To me, when he says "sweet" things, it's almost in a condescending/sarcastic tone. It is the same tone he used to manipulate Tav in act 1. Meanwhile, unascended Astarion sounds MUCH more sincere and truly happy with Tav. I tried ascending him once and almost immediately went back. I got beef with AA lmao

Which is interesting because neil newbon said when they were coaching him on how to play AA versus spawn, they told him to play spawn as if the mask is still on and he is still hiding his feelings, whereas with AA the mask is off and he is being his truly genuine self. I enjoy both of his paths and don’t mind which people choose, but it’s interesting how he is perceived vs how he was actually played/planned.

@@darkurgediaries I actually find them to both be equally genuine, and equally hiding behind a mask. I think both are genuine in their love. But each has taken on his attributes that he thinks he needs to succeed in his new circumstances. Spawn Astarion has no guarantee his love will stay, so he inflates his 'good' qualities to make sure he is projecting the person he thinks the PC wants to see in him (the same person he said he couldn't be when he was still plotting for ascension). Ascended Astarion is sure that his love won't leave, but inflates his ego and dominance to maintain the air of lordship and power he must to maintain that position, and to keep them both safe navigating vampiric and 'human' elitist society.

What happens if Ascended Astarion allows Tav to still be alive (without being spawned)? The epilogue looks the same? In those 6 months he turned Tav into a spawn? Are there any differences in this new epilogue? Or was it passed over in silence and hidden under the carpet?

From what I've seen this could or could not be missed continuity on the Dev's part. Pre epilogue the dialogue options can lead up to Tav not becoming a spawn. But the game already has it scripted that during the 6 months leading to the epilogue you consent to becoming a vampire. So my thought is that the story was written with the intention that if you choose to romance Ascended Astarion you also eventually welcome immortality. Which makes sense cause it's a romance with a literal vampire. Making their loved ones immortal has often, if not always, been an inevitable story development.

To answer your question it was "passed over in silence and hidden under the carpet." - You are automatically a vampire bride at the party. There is no extra or different scene for it.

@@Konkubinanr1810 Yes, he does break up if you tell him no, outright. You can tell him you want to wait until after tadpoles are dealt with before he changes you and he will agree to that. Meaning you still agree to become his spawn, just later instead of immediately. And if you wait until after brain is dealt with to try to break it off, you can't, he doesn't agree.
