These mini essence eyeshadow palettes are drugstore hidden gems!! Today I'll share my reviews along with swatches and a look for each palette. These are definitely among my favorite new drugstore makeup releases in 2021, and may just be some of the best drugstore eyeshadow palettes with their $3.99 price tag, cohesive shades and great quality.

I got Taupe It Up a few weeks ago and I can’t put it down- I love it so much. I’m light warm-toned with brown eyes and it’s the only cool-toned palette that’s ever looked good on me. I love Essence, they definitely need more love and recognition.

I'll be looking for these, especially Ice Ice Baby. In the pan it reminds me so much of a palette I had in 7th grade - that would be 1975! - that was called something like Blue Jeans. Probably Cover Girl or some similar drugstore brand from that era. The blues in the Essence palette look much more wearable though. The Blue Jeans shadows were absolutely bright, garish, 1970s blues on the skin! I only wore them once at school but I worried so much I'd get in trouble I never did it again, since I wasn't allowed to wear makeup at that age. (It was a small town, dad was a social worker, and many teachers knew him.) I might not wear these either but at $3.99 I can afford the nostalgia 😄

The blue and the taupe look amazing! I have fair skin and grey-green eyes. They have a Nude gold toned one now and that's one I'd definitely gravitate towards ✨

OHH I LOVE THE GREEN! My eyes come across more brown but there's a green ring around the outside and I've been getting into using green shadows to make that colour pop more. I HAVE to get that palette!

Honestly after editing this vid and pictures of the look I snapped afterward, the Taupe look grew on me!! Definitely different than the run of the mill palettes we've been seeing at the drugstore. And Dancing Green would probably really compliment your unique eyes!!!

I started with the coral palette only and wanted to get another one but wasn't sure which. I leaned towards the blue one since I always wanted to try a blue on my eyes but wanted to keep it drugstore. Didn't want to spend a lot on something I wouldn't use a lot. I was so glad to get the blue eyeshadow palette! I'm thinking of getting a couple more of the mini eyeshadow palettes since they are so affordable. We are basically twinsies so the swatches helped. I bought the green palette. So pretty on. I'm not a fan of blue shadows but the palette looked so pretty on you. I have to get that one now. Lol I love the small palettes for traveling and it's less overwhelming. I have to many of both sides now.

I bought Bronzed This Way because it's great for travel - it has a shade that's similar to my skin tone, some deeper mattes and a few nice shimmers, plus the mirror is convenient! Definitely not an A+ palette but it works for what it is.

Yes!! Blues and greens are hard for brands to get right. the greyness while blending is very common.

Oooh excellent question. I mean for a dollar more than these, you're getting more shades to unlock more looks. So I guess it really depends on what you're looking for. I think these are a great way to add pops of color to your collection without committing to like a 20-pan "rainbow" or one-color themed palette. The wnw ones are very wearable so for $5 if you see yourself really using all the shades then that's definitely a great value.

Hi everyone. I am embarrassed to admit ive been in the store, held these and put them back, not once but 3 times. I wasnt to impressed with their past eyeshadows, i badly want a grey that has a teeny bit of purple undertone. Ive decided to just buy 2 and see if i can show restraint afterwards. Taupe It Up or I Like to Mauve It may be perfect for what you're looking for then!! I totally agree though, this is definitely the brand's best eyeshadow formula yet.

Just looked up this review because I'm thinking about picking up these palettes. Now, I'm really intrigued by them and may have to pick them all up. I saw that they now have a pink-toned palette (My Rose Will Go On) and a nudes palette (Nothing Compares to Nudes). What do you think of those two?

I haven't tried those, but the brand is super consistent with their formula so I'm sure the quality is the same as these! I just didn't need those in my collection at the time they released!

These are one of the makeup releases that if you buy the full collection you won't feel as guilty afterwards 😅 they're such a hot cake item atm, always sold out at the drugstore! I finally found the mauve it palette, can't wait to get my hands on all of them. It's like 24$ for 36 shades, that perform pretty well. They could've definitely charged close to 7-8$ for a palette and people would still buy it. So for 4$ such a cute color story and shadows that perform nice? It's a Win for Essence and us lol.

I haven't tried either of those or held them in person but these are slightly bigger than 3"x2.5"

I actually really appreciate your verbal color descriptions because sometimes it's hard to tell specifically shades on the screen. I wish all brands would take the time to list those accurately as well as the dimensions of a palette.
