The S8 in Ronin was converted to RWD so it could be drifted around the streets of Paris. This new one is a great looking and sounding car.

@@alessimc Turning TC Off is not the same thing as decoupling your transmission/differential to drive only one axle. Can be found on BMWs, Mercs, Pick ups. But not on any current Audi or any from the last 20+ years

I simply loved this video for a number of reasons. 1. The Audi S8 is my dream car; 2. You had Petrol Ped & Stev with their beautiful dogs in this video, making this my favorite video ever! 3. The dogs pretty much said everything there is to say about the riding in the back of the S8 by looking absolutely content, happy & relaxed, even when you floored it in Sport! 4. Kudos to Audi for the low key exterior which is one of the main reasons I love the S8 so much. 5. You managed to get to 100 kmh in 3.4 seconds?? Wow that's Bentley territory, isn't it? At a fraction of the price!!

This cars achilles heel is depreciation. It will be an absolute bargain for someone in 3 years while the RS6 will still be expensive(relatively). Another great video though!

A friends son got badly burnt by one of these so called bargains - he did a hundred miles before auto box stopped changing into 2nd! It never did again - ended up getting the guy who sold it to him to take it back and refund him. He’d had the good sense to buy a warranty - it went to four gearbox specialists who couldn’t solve it, even trying a new box. Jeez, only 0.2 slower to 60 than a mclaren f1 - thatsmadness. As joe says, almost too fast to unleash on the road! Found joes channel through petrol ped - joe, Pete and Stefan are my favourite car you tubers along with Harry’s garage, just so natural. Edit: I wrote this before I saw ped and Stefan in vid!

I own a 2020 Audi S8 and it's my favorite car I have ever owned. Also currently own a 2018 BMW 740. The S8 is more quiet when driving normally, smoother and has a way more modern interior.

I don't think I've paid much attention to the A8 since the second generation, but this S8 is so appealing. As a daily, it would probably tick so many boxes and do so many things so well. That dark red would even go well with my preference for red leather.

I had ppf put over the screens & piano black trim in my RS6. They work just as well & it does keep them quite free of finger marks.

Lovely car but I've been pretty underwhelmed by Audi's latest offerings. Had a near new (4k mile) A6 3.0TDI on loan for a couple of weeks recently and the build quality was awful, not just compared to the usual Audi quality, but anything in that price range. If I'd been the unlucky sod who'd forked out for it new, I would have been livid. Great content as always @JoeAchilles, keep up the great work!

@Loch F the base R8 V10 does it in 3.5 seconds. The S8 can do it in as low as 3.3 seconds. The R8 V10 Performance can do it in 2.7 seconds. That's where your confusion is.

Brilliant car, always had a soft spot for the S8 although I personally think the previous model was the best looking car for it’s time and still a handsome beast. Very nice tech and comfort, fantastic ability to be two cars in one. It is a little too plain for me and I’d spice it up a bit which would satisfy my need for it to stand out from the regular A8 and have a smidge of aggression so no biggie really. Biggest issue against this car and indeed all big German limousines be they performance one or not is the rate at which resale plummets, it’s an unfortunate fact of having one of these lovely types of car is you’re going to get taken to the cleaners when you want to change it.

@RichJW actually I’ve heard the M550i is actually not a very agile car. Its good but it feels much bigger and heavier than it is. The S8 on the other hand feels much more nimble than its size would suggest due to the rear steering and how the Audi tuned the suspension in the sport modes. But yeah, both great cars!

A BMW 750i M Sport is £93k and comes with lots of extras. Granted it's not quite as quick, but still has 530hp. The S8 is a lovely motor though. Strange how Audi can make an A8 handle well but recent A4's can never compete in the entertainment stakes.
