It’s not a western leaders issue. It’s not a NATO issue. Whilst things would be over quickly if NATO were to mobilise, and I would gladly return to my old squadron in that event, the fact is that everyone looks to this like it’s just a thing for the NATO nations to sort out, but that literally lets every other nation in the free world off the hook. The fact is, the whose world should be standing up against tyranny at the hands of an authoritarian regime led by a despotic dictator. People moan about the inaction of the US, Britain, France, and Germany, in particular, NATO on the whole, but when do you hear anyone mention the inaction of Brasil, the soft approach on sanctions of India, the lack of a single African nation stepping up against this invasion. The fact is, just because NATO is one alliance, people don’t consider other countries who all make up the United Nations. I don’t agree with the lack of effort from my own country, but it doesn’t mean I feel that the lack of any effort from around the world is any better. Rules laid out in the UN were broken and it should be up to all UN members to put a stop to that.

@Antares-rt5ub16 сағат бұрын
It could technically resume the war between North Korea and South Korea since they’re fighting each other. A war between North Korea and South Korea won’t be like Ukraine. South Korea is a close ally to the US while North Korea is close to China. If South Korea is attacked the US will definitely respond while if North Korea is attacked China will definitely respond. It will likely start a huge war in the Pacific region with China and North Korea against the US, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and the Philippines. A huge war in the Pacific would be so much worse than a NATO war with Russia. It would will definitely devastate the entire global economy. Not saying I disagree with South Korea sending equipment and advisors to Ukraine but thats the thinking.

Great video! I like such analysis. Also I would like to point out, europe has over 150 different main weapon systems, the US just 30, which is far more efficient and cheaper. Imo europe should find a way to work together instead of having f.e. 1 howitzer for each larger country, because costs per unit would go down, and europe could have more weapons and easier logistics. The best howitzer right now is the RCH-155, the best IFV is the Lynx. Both from Germany. The USA considers to buy both, because they are that good. Lynx to replace Bradley. Ukraine also will get a small number of both weapons. I hope, europe finds a way to develop and produce weapons together, to be more efficient, to use the best systems, because europe has far more potential than we utilize. I really hope for change, and that they buy weapons together in large numbers, because that would decrease the costs and allow to buy more weapons for Ukraine. The best weapons, the west has.
@UserDefaultEurope8 сағат бұрын
Not that many are happy with their French and German weapons and vehicles. Successful sales (Eurofighter, Mirage, Rafale, Lynx) are mostly to clueless posers and poor countries with undeveloped or peaceful neighbours. Australia scrapped their new NH90, that bad. People laugh at the melting G36 and French trumpet. Meanwhile Finland’s Patria is flooded with over 1.000 orders for their 6X6 and 8X8 AMV (with or without NEMO or AMOS turrets), orders from wealthy nations and Ukraine. The same goes for neverending orders of Finnish 155mm precision shells manufactured by robots, artillery pieces, Finnish sniper rifles and so on. Finland has more artillery pieces than the big European countries combined (1.700+), and their navy has 1.000+ artillery pieces on top of that, ranging from 23mm computer-directed autocannons to 300mm ship evaporators. People living right next to Russia manufacture and buy only what truly works. Bribery and buying inferior domestic never succeeds there. Are France and Germany ready to play junior partners, and accept that others make better gear? No, Germany is already trying to wiggle out from the contract of 1.000 Finnish APCs, because it is foreign. I’m German and served for a while in the Finnish HQ. Their 900.000 troops are capable, ready and willing. It is an army running a country. They never stopped making new doomsday vaults! When they order something from abroad, they assemble it themselves (including helis and jets), and then always seem to find new spare parts and upgrades long after manufacture. Enigma was broken, but their encoder was not, Berlin fell, Helsinki did not see a single Soviet. Finnish digital battlefield systems and joint operating practises are far ahead. The only seriously competitive things we make are the IRIS-T, Leopard 2, U-Boats and slimy chancellors. We have no idea how to operate in a hostile environment. We begged and bribed for tasking from the US in Afghanistan, paying with wine and beer. Meanwhile Poles drove around in their green Finnish battle wagons, hammering scared lurkers in hills. Other Europeans are going to stop buying German/French cars, if we don’t in turn buy their better weapons and military vehicles, and start to listen to them. We’re backseaters in this, lacking even enough of helmets!

The problem with a "rules based order" is that when one or more parties decide they don't have to obey the rules the other parties must be willing to retaliate in full (no matter the cost) or the "rules based order" falls apart. Russia has proven that the collective West is unwilling to meaningfully enforce their rules and while there may be inconveniences associated with breaking the "Rules", there is no real hindrance for a Bad Actor to just take what they want. The UN should be dissolved if they are unwilling to enforce their own treaties, agreements and requirements.

Putin and the oligarchs are some of the richest people in the world. They hang with Musk and the other billionaires, on superyachts and supermansions that have their own air defense. A broad nuclear war wouldn't benefit them, at all. Right now, I'd be more worried about... we saw what China did in response to Trump's China policies last time. It kinda backfired on them then... but they'll try something. I wouldn't worry so much about US vs Russia any more - they're besties now, even if publicly they tell stories and do a dance of opposition, the oligarchs now have a seat at that table. So there won't be a Russia vs America WWIII. China is the big wildcard... and how will the EU respond to this?

A few obvious things that seem lost here. Ukraine isn't in NATO, nor has Ukraine requested ground forces from European armies. NATO is under Supreme Command of US. All articles of NATO apply to the alliance regadless of conflicts outside NATO. Bordering countries with Ukraine can use air defence and aircraft without NATO consent - its for those nations to decide. Nations in NATO can supply weapons, armour, infantry, support,as they see fit. No troops in NATO are being cowards, you are confusing with dithering leaders like Sholz and Biden.

Over and over I see people arguing over why their country shouldn’t get involved. Once upon a time the world said “never again” in the aftermath of an evil dictator. Now people want to turn their backs and say it’s not their problem. “Ukraine aren’t a part of NATO so NATO should stay out of it”. It’s a constant comment type here. Let’s consider it a different way instead then. Ukraine is a part of the United Nations with borders agreed upon by the UN, so rather than just NATO getting involved, how about we stand together as the United Nations of the world and agree to fight against tyranny as a global force? Not just the 3.5 million servicemen and women of NATO, but a unified stand against a tyrannical dictator with every nation willing to stand up for what’s right actually standing together. If you see someone being mugged in the street, do you turn your back and act like it’s someone else’s responsibility to deal with it, or do you stand up for the person being mugged even if you’ve never met them before? I’ve stepped in when I’ve seen guys pestering women in bars before even though I never knew the women before and would never see them after. I didn’t need an alliance with them first in order to do what was right. What would you do in such a situation? Now multiply that situation into a global scale conflict. Do you sit back and do nothing, or step up and hope like hell that others will also stand up for what’s right? Yes, in each situation, there is a risk of getting hurt or even killed. But sometimes it just takes one person stepping up to do the right thing and the rest of the people in the room suddenly find themselves backing that person up and more willing to step up, and in every occasion, the aggressor realises they cannot win and they slink back off home without further incident. I’d love it if our descendants could look back at us now and be proud that we stood up for what was right and dared to step up against the bully of the world. But that’s just my thinking. No one will think less of you if your own views are different and you would rather just let someone else deal with the problem. At the end of the day, everyone will do what they feel is right. At the end of the day, we’ll all be forgotten by history. I just want to do whatever I can whilst I can.

The EU ( not NATO) should create a Coalition of the willing and send say 150,000 soldiers to defend the Ukraine Belarus Border. This would free Ukraine's soldiers to leave the border and fight. Putin should be warned that if he does not send all NK troops home the EU will send more soldiers into Ukraine and fight at the front only IN Ukraine and occupied Territory. EU Air Forces also help defend Ukraine's skies

The EU is not a military organization tho, it is an economy one just like BRICS. The military organization of europeans is NATO.
@supersuede649314 сағат бұрын
@@wokeaf1337 nope, wrong. EU has military defense aswell. If Russia invaded Finland before they got into NATO, EU had to defend it.
@wokeaf13379 сағат бұрын
@@supersuede6493 wtf Nato is the first line of defence in Europe, Finland is in Nato...if Russia invades Finland they fight Nato the moment they cross the border.

@wokeaf1337 I mean Country's in the EU then, I thought people were a bit smarter and would grasp it but ok obviously not. Sorry
@jessicamason77262 сағат бұрын
The reason I don't say NATO is it helps keeps NATO a step away from being accused of joining Ukraine and starting WW3..EU could be Poland, France, Germany ...they could invite non EU Country's ie like when America went into Afghanistan after 911

The biggest issue (as I see it) is that we're allowing Putin to craft the entire narrative and draw all the red lines. When he imports Shaheds and NK troops, we say nothing...and then just randomly unlock ATACMS for no discernable reason--instead of drawing our own red lines and saying "you start brining these other nations in, then we unleash ATACMS"--or something like that. What's the point of being the biggest and best military in the world, with a military budget that is double the top-5 military spending countries in the world--combined--if we're being afraid of Iran and the Houthis?? "Oh, sorry Ukraine, we can't let you do that--the rebel Sand People in south Tatooine might start firing rockets at us". WHAT??

Comment auto deleted as usual, so I try again with something else: Anyway, it is sad that USA just allowed Ukraine to defend for more than 1000 days of full scale invasion war, never allowing Ukraine to attack back, hindering allied countries in their efforts to support Ukraine if there was a single USA made component. 🇦🇺💙💛✌ 🇺🇦 Slava Ukraini!
