A family member fought in Korea with the US Marines. He was my mother's first cousin, and from Puerto Rico like her. I remember him describing the incredible cold of the Korean winter to me as a kid in the 1970s when we were visiting PR. He also described the waves of Chinese soldiers that relentlessly attacked the US positions. All pretty sobering stuff for the 11 year old me at that time!

Regardless- the people of russia are not going to be told anything truthful about the arrangement, and since the russian government controls all of the media within the country- they can continue on anyway they want without the fear of rebellion. It's not as though the average russian citizen will know that their beloved leader is conscripting troops from NK or that they are throwing away the lives of their own troops and the conscripted soldiers on a mass scale, and they likely do not know (and / or do not want to know) that there's something seriously wrong with their military and leadership.

The Kursk incursion is a dagger to the Ukranian defended Donbas and is probably the greatest military blunder in recent times. Going on an offensive without the support of your allies with both manpower and equiptment disadvantages for an industrially insignificant area is suicidal. Look up attritional war doctorine, pretty much everything it advises not to do, Ukraine did.
