21:07 The Millbrae station does look like that in real life! It's just plopped there by the tracks. It shares a connection with the BART subway station there that goes to the airport and up to SF city.
@russell57004 жыл бұрын
As a person that has taken the train from there for years it seems like the station itself is the same besides BART not being there.

Hey Raptor, you'll notice that there are square signs with a black "X" on a white background throughout the route. These signs are placed approximately ¼ mile before grade crossings and indicates that the locomotive engineer should sound the train horn or whistle. For some of these signs, there is another sign below that has a number on it. This indicates that there are multiple grade grossings back to back. For example, if you see a sign that has the number 6 underneath a sign with an "X", that means there are six railroad crossings back to back that you need to sound the horn for. The pattern is known as Rule 14L and states that upon reaching the sign, the locomotive engineer show blow two long blasts of the horn, one short blast and one more long blast before the train enters the crossing. Note that the CSX Keystone subdivision route, uses a sign that has a black "W" on a white background instead of the "X". The "W" stands for "whistle" and the engineer should respond exactly the same way as the "X" sign. The CSX route also has a separate sign for each and every grade crossing and will never have a separate sign with a number underneath. Hope this info helps!! 😀👍👌

I should also mention that the Peninsula Corridor and CSX routes also have speed limit and mile post signs as well. Peninsula Corridor also has station ahead signs and signs indicating where the train should stop along the platform. The LIRR also has these signs. On the Peninsula Corridor, speed limit signs that indicate the speed limit is decreasing are of a downward rectangular arrow shape with black text on a yellow background and speed limit signs indicating the speed limit is increasing are of an upward rectangular arrow shape with white text on a green background. There will be two numbers on the speed limit sign; the top number is the speed limit for passenger trains and the bottom number is the speed limit for freight trains. On the CSX Keystone subdivision route, speed limit signs use black numbers on a yellow background in the shape of a diamond. As with the Peninsula Corridor, many of the signs have two numbers separated by a black horizontal line, with the top number displaying the passenger speed limit and the bottom number showing the speed limit for freight trains. CSX also has speed limit signs with only one number, in which case the speed limit is the same for both passenger and freight trains. Mile posts on the Peninsula Corridor are always square and use black text on a white background for whole miles and black text on a yellow background for tenths of a mile. It's easy to mistake the whole mile post signs for the grade crossing sign if you don't get a good look. CSX mile posts use black text on a very thin rectangular sign low to the ground. Additionally, on the Peninsula Corridor, diamond shaped signs with a black "S" on a white background are placed exactly one mile before where you stop at the station. Depending on your speed, you should prepare to begin braking after passing the sign. At each station, you will notice two signs at the end of each platform. "SPOT CAB" signs indicate where an original consist of five gallery cars powered by the F40PH-2 locomotive should stop and the "SPOT B" signs indicate where the Bombardier five car consists powered by the MP36PH-3C locomotive should stop. For the Long Island RailRoad, there are square signs with orange text on a blue background that indicate where to bring the train to a stop. The signs will have a number or range of numbers followed by the letters "MU", which stands for "Multiple Unit." The numbers refer to the number of cars in the train. If the the number of cars in your train matches the number on the sign or is within the range on the sign, that is where you would bring the train to a stop. For example, if you are driving an eight car train, possible signs at stations where you would bring the train to a stop are an "8 MU" or "4-12 MU" sign. Personally, I like trying to keep the experience as realistic as possible. To that end, I absolutely hate using the Heads-up display. However, it is necessary for routes that don't include trackside signs. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have and I'll do my best to answer it or find the answer. Hope this info helps!

5:29 those are actually train number boards, which display the last 2 digits of the service. this is essential on the F40, since there is no LED indicator on the front, as well as all cabcars.

Hey Raptor jfyi when you approach a railroad crossing there is a horn pattern you need to follow: it is 2 long blasts of the horn 1 short blast and one long as you enter the crossing
@Island_Line_Rail_Productions4 жыл бұрын
From the FRA Under the Train Horn Rule (49 CFR Part 222), locomotive engineers must begin to sound train horns at least 15 seconds, and no more than 20 seconds, in advance of all public grade crossings. If a train is traveling faster than 60 mph, engineers will not sound the horn until it is within ¼ mile of the crossing, even if the advance warning is less than 15 seconds. There is a "good faith" exception for locations where engineers can’t precisely estimate their arrival at a crossing and begin to sound the horn no more than 25 seconds before arriving at the crossing. Train horns must be sounded in a standardized pattern of 2 long, 1 short and 1 long blasts. The pattern must be repeated or prolonged until the lead locomotive or lead cab car occupies the grade crossing. The rule does not stipulate the durations of long and short blasts.

Head End Power is a separate engine that provides electricity for the passenger cars. That’s what failed in the scenario. Also, since this is an American route, you should be using miles per hour. When stopping, always use the automatic brake.
