Today we take a look at Bachmann Class 70 Colas Freight sound fitted 31-591ASF £297:45 from Colletts Models of Exmouth Devon.

Thank you so very much Ian for watching my video and your comment. I've been after the Colas 70 for years. Didn't manage to get 1 the 1st time of production. So I'm way over the moon that I now have 1. Only thing that's a bit OFF is the Vocals Announcement. Very hard to hear properly. Voice is directing the driver starts off think saying 'you are 6ft away', then Driver replies before marshaler counts down the distance. Apart from that it all seems The Bees 🐝 knees 🦵 Cheers & ATB Kevin

Nice model and I like the sounds on this one. If I was a rail operator. I would buy 10 Class 60's and send them to GE to have the tech from the Class 70 and reclass it as a Class 64 although the shell would remain the same as a Class 60 in its looks. Speaking of Bachmann. I am going to get one of their new Class 47's later with the working fans as I want to compare the 2023 model with the 2013 model I have of 47834 that will be up on my channel in September. My first retro train set review goes live this Sunday and I will be doing one train set per month as I like the older Hornby and Lima train sets. November will be interesting as I am going to review a train set from 1986 that was the start of my model train ventures. All the best Peter.

Thanks for sharing this demo and overview, most helpful. The sound list and loco seem pretty decent, better than I expected after Eugene's review on his EuviRail YT channel. However, I do think the speaker needs upgrading for a bit more bass rumble though! I might now actually purchase one as MRD have it at 35% off in their Summer Sale offers! Regards Julian

Also being honest what I say of what I find with things. I pay for all my items so I feel I can give my honest opinion. Some people seem to not like honest reviews, saying I attack manufacturers. But when you spend hundreds of pounds on an item you have the right to say how you find things. Some people with thousands of followers GET GIVEN ITEMS FOR FREE. So they are biased in my opinion. @@bluebellcentralmodelrailwa4064 Thank you for taking the time to reply Kevin. I am quite critical too as I feel that the main manufacturers grossly over charge and under deliver! The amount of issues I encounter with manufacturing/design problems across the board is rather ridiculous considering the cost of the items! Bachmann's newly tooled range seems pretty good now but their ludicrous prices spoil things. Thankfully now retailer are starting to discount heavily (25%-35%) if you look around. If we won't pay the silly RRPs then they won't charge them! Regards Julian

Cheers Julian atleast that Colas class 70 is a great price from MRD as I paid almost £300 for it (10% off RRP) I wish I had waited as I would have saved like another £70 now. But I honestly thought these locos would have flown off the shelves. I usually hardly ever pay full price for items as I usually do a lot of shopping around for best prices. Some sales are BRILL. From the docks the line travels west then meets the ECML. Hardly anything goods wise travels through the centre of the county. Just got a Bachmann 57 GWR with sound 233 pounds from hattons BNITB and 2 coaches 301 pounds GWR Sleepers green liv cant find saw 3 for 150 on ebay start price offed 190 he refused said he could sell for 250 + did not see them sold i notice a lot of things not sold on ebay now no one has any money time expireded with no offeres

Thank you for a useful review. As for the 9F I have just bought the Bachmann sound is not as impressive as I would have hoped. Maybe the speaker is not good enough or perhaps the volume CV needs changing. Anyway it does look expensive for a non-uprated model, i.e. unlike the newer Bachmann 37 or 47. (If it still has a driver fitted, it's non-uprated!)
