These coaches recently announced by bachmann really are stunning, nicely detailed and the lighting really adds to the effect, they are quite pricey though, let me know what you think.

Amazing channel and amazing review sir! Your no good for me! You are going to cost me nigh on three hundred quid for these! Amazing detail and rear flashing tail lamp options, interior lighting and awesome detail wow! A cracking running session makes these a must! Really enjoyed your review on the Drs 33 twin pack you purchased a year ago, mine arrived today, and wow! Cant afford sound just yet but dcc fitted shortly. Hi Nick glad you like the review I was paranoid I made the video to long lol, even though they are expensive they are a super looking coach, and the 33s are up there with the drs 37s and 20s as my favorites at the moment, the sound fitting does add a fair bit its a pity heljan don't offer a sound fitted option with there locos, but it does add realism to the model in my opinion, thanks for watching and for the kind comment, I also follow your channel. They are my favorite coaches, very pricey but they are quality, i still have a few hornby resprays from rainbow railways, am probably going to sell the other hornby ones i have to help finance the bachmann ones, thanks for watching. Tom

Have to thank you for the review as you have saved me a lot of grief and money. As I have a 2nd radius loop on my layout these would be no good for me. I'll be keeping my Hornby's where I have fitted a working end of train lamp myself and the coaches go round my 2nd radius curves with no problem even though they are close coupled so the ends can touch . Also can you tell if you can easily take them apart to put figures? Nothing like good lighting to show an empty coach. Good job, they look great but you have shown their wont work for all and I did not know that and whats more these are the first of a new breed of coaches from Bachmann, so will they all behave like these? Hi Peter I haven't sussed the roof removal out yet your right though could do with some passengers, and yes it is a shame they dont like the sharper curves, I think hornby usually design there trains around there own setrack so if they run on that theyl run on anything, I've found that with bachmann in the past they look superior on alot of rolling stock but cant fault hornby rolling stock for running, am going to have another go of running them on 2nd radius in different directions, formations and speed to see if they can run, if anything improves I'll let you know, glad you found the vid useful inalways enjoy your videos in the shed and you have certainly packed alot in a relatively small space, thanks for watching. do the coaches have a stay alive capacitor in them to stop flickering lights?

Hi i dont think so, i did mention it in the video that it maybe a good idea, mine did flicker on one section of track at slow speed but since discovered it was the track at fault and not the coach but on sharpe curves especially my hornby 2nd radius points the lights lost power sometimes and turned of and they have to be turned on again with the controller which can be a pain but anything wider than 2nd radius atleast on my layout on the outer track they work faultlessly and lights didnt flicker, thanks for watching. @@northwesttrainsmodels cheers. yes sorry you did mention stay alives towards end of video after i had already posted the question! i hate to see flickering lights on model trains it makes me think battery power is preferable. glad it works fine on the wider radius track anyway.

They look alright but way too expensive and even without lighting just shy of £70 thus giving it a miss even though I'm a DRS fan, plus I would have to fork out the Collector's Club membership which adds another £32 to the cost and no I'm not interested in their membership. Excellent video.

I see what you mean if your not a member then it does add a fair bit extra I was already a member luckily and if I didn't like doing nite scenes I don't think I would spend that much on a coach, I will probably sell 3 of my hornby ones to help cover the cost to, apart from the original virgin livery I think the drs compass livery is my favorite privatisation livery, thanks for watching. @@northwesttrainsmodels the fact that Accurascale can sell you a new-tooled TPE 4 Coach Mk5 Pack for £250 with DCC Lighting & much higher level of detail & accuracy says a lot about how off Bachmann's pricing really is with their constant nearly there but no cigar products.

You make a very good point, unfortunately the past few years prices from bachmann and some of hornby have sky rocketed, and hornby do seem to try and choke out the smaller manufacturers, I cant wait to see the new mk5 set from accurascale and hope they keep making high quality models and between them and other manufacturers mite force others to bring there prices down

@@northwesttrainsmodels yes indeed they have which is why I don't buy from them anymore as my attention is now focused on Accurascale, Revolution, Cavalex , Hattons & even Dapol lol. I've got both AS TPE Packs on pre-order and 2 Dapol TPE 68's already and getting Felix as a third backup thus should look stunning on my future layout once house space is made available. Too be honest I don't think Bachmann or Hornby can back out now with their high prices and not sure how their sales will be affected but they will be getting zero pounds from me as I simply vote with my wallet and don't hold any allegiance to any manufacturer. Since I collect current day stock and being very picky I can actually do without Bachmann & Hornby but yes others will find that difficult unfortunately.
