Matt I absolutely love the fact that you can promote the brand WITHOUT putting the competition down. You said the jackhammer is still a great bait. While also saying the advantages of Berkleys slobberknocker. That's true honesty and to me that's what matters. I feel like if the product is crap even if I'm sponsored by that company I'm gonna voice that. May cost sponsorship but at least my integrity and my word is still valued and respected

Thanks very much! All im trying to do is promote baits that I think will help people catch fish. Im truly not trying to sell product and the reality is im always talking about baits on my channel that im NOT sponsored by. Im a tackle junky and love cool things. It’s a bladed jig by Berkley that most bladed jig enthusiasts want with a brain beyond the concrete operational stages of brain development will be utilizing. For what you get ive always found berkely to be surprisingly more affordable than comparable baits. I'll be honest, I was never the biggest fan of the jackhammer. Heresy, I know. But I prefer the Strike King Thunder Cricket. My favorite bladed jigs, however, are the ones I make myself. Those thump so hard it actually will make your fingers tingle for a while after throwing them. That being said, those Slobberknockers (who comes up with these names, btw?) remind me of a jig with a switchblade attached to it. So I am curious. You already know I have to buy some.

@mikebower92552 жыл бұрын
Finally!!! Sweet!!! Hey, until I get to hold one in my hands.... Is it possible, that the bar thru the head actually helps with the start up? If you hold the blade upright, like it is when it's in the water, and twist it left and right, does it - touch, nudge, guide the head in any way as that bar moves with the blade?? Is that part of the Berkely genius? You know I love my Berkely too, that bar *could* actually impart action on the jig part? Either way, can't wait to buy them
@MattStefanFishing2 жыл бұрын
i think it almost helps knock the bait back to the other side giving it more action. i know the Berkley people tested it in multple ways against the competition and found that it exceeded in noise, vibration and started up vibration by a lot in their controlled testing.

The way it attaches to the blade is to get around Zman's stupid chatterbait patent. That's why Jackhammer's are 8 bucks in Japan, but 15 in the US, because Zman has their patent tax. In this case I think the way they join the blade actually looks like a better solution. I'll have to pick a couple up and give them a try. I like hard thump, but I would like it if the thump translates all the way down to the tail. I would like a wider vibration, not just a faster vibrate or whatever. Don't care how fast they start. If I did, I'll avoid all buzzers. Not into speed fishing. I think what I imagine is something else entirely different and what get or what is possible mostly is entirely something else. That's why I want to be a company in my own right making lures as my fantasy company. I'm like the refinement in Japanese builders, but I guess I like result and niche. No respect for companies that rip off of other baits. I’m sure they would cry if someone ripped off their maxscent or power bait formulas.
@MattStefanFishing2 жыл бұрын
just for the record, using your logic would then indicate that Z-man basically stole the chatterbait idea from the Eagle Claw Eaker Shaker which came out in the late 1990's. Here is a video of it kzbin.info/www/bejne/oH6XlXpqodmFj8k Almost every new bait that has come out in the last 20 years is just an improvement of an older design. I personally dont think there is anything wrong with improving on something that already exists and zman has a patent on theirs so its obviously not a big enough copy to be a patent infringement.
@19empire852 жыл бұрын
By that logic you shouldn't have respect for any company that makes a a crankbait, spinnerbait, buzzbait, jerkbait... you see where I'm going here, thats like every company... also thats basically exactly what baitfuel is doing, which is now infused in netbait products. Except maxxscent works great and baitfuel hasn't got me an extra bite that im sure was because of baitfuel since I got it early this spring.
@DAVE_WHITE2 жыл бұрын
@@19empire85 No they tried to pass a law of at least a 15% design change, in the fishing industry long ago it went nowhere. Sure everyone rips off yamamoto and the "senko" I get it it is just the only industry that there is almost no innovation,. once a year at ICAST a FEW new items and designs are thought up.... Then by the time that product is released there are already 15 companies ripping of the design and offering it at a lower price.. that is my point. there should be a patent and a time frame just like any other business where it can not be copied for XXX number of years..

@@DAVE_WHITE lol im not gonna argue here on Matt's channel, anywhere else on social media I might but I respect Matt and im not gonna do it here, ill just say go to Google and do some research, there are patents in the fishing market, just like all the other markets, and just like those markets changing something by a certain percent is how you get around them. Everyone copies everyone in every industry, multiple tool companies don't make the same tools? Building materials? Cars? Aftermarket parts? Food and drink? Clothing? And those are just the things I can think of by just looking around me lol that list is endless brother, im not sure what world you live in lol but like I said im not gonna argue here, I doubt your mind is willing to change even if it saw proof, so good day to you sir.

I'll stick with my jackhammers, I know it's your sponsor so you have to pimp it out. But everyone knows the jackhammer is #1

Gee mybe a bladed gig may catch me a fish after all. You catching that clam equals how many catches I've had on bladed jigs. I know they were just not for me

There's no such thing as too many baits! Regardless of who made them, they all have a place!

Great lure. But who can afford $13.99 for a lure that has great potential for getting hung on a stump or a rock?

it actually comes through wood great! I have a video coming out tomorrow showing me fishing it through wood
