Picked up a pair of these back in 2019 when I visited Tokyo - only had a pair of Vans with me and I was not ready for the amount of walking I had to do in those lol. The 997h lasted me my entire trip and about a year and a half afterwards - they became my dailys and I trashed the hell out of them. Phenomenal shoe for the price point, nothing bad to say!

Debating it for this exact reason - a long euro trip with lots of walking. Sounds like you'd recommend it then? Any advice even two years later? They're still a bit pricey at $75 ish on a sale right now.

New balance can do no wrong. They are consistent with quality and overall aesthetic. It is cliché to always refer to them as a dad shoe brand when realistically, everyone loves them. I receive more compliments from my fiancé while wearings NB’s

I bought these as well, even the same colorway, and I love them. Kinda hard being a teacher and a sneakerhead some days. This is my second pair of 997h and I love them. Light and comfortable all day.

I own both 997H and 997S (unfortunately, the 997 Made in US is too expensive here, the equivalent of 250-300 USD when converted). The 997S has a bit of a looser fit compared to 997H (I wear 10.5 in the S, 11 in the H). The Abzorb midsole of the S is also softer and more comfortable than the H.

Totally agree, the S made me return all my 997H pairs and I won't even consider the H compared to the S due to comfort alone

I found a pair of 997H I found on clearance at REI of all places. They were only $25!!! The quality is really good for the price. The colorway in the video is super clean. How do the NB sweats compare to Nike tech fleece?

997h and the 997s are totally different shoes and are pretty nice, but not Fresh Foam good like the 574s's

New Balance X J.Crew 997H's are pretty nice as well, midsole has a little speckles on it, pretty comfy shoe!

The 997 is a one of the best silhouettes from New Balance. Honestly New Balance is doing a fantastic job in their design and development. Don't have any in my collection. But if the right colourway comes along then I will definitely purchase.

Let’s be honest, these lower-end 997s aren’t all that comfortable. Got a couple pairs that rarely make the rotation because there are just too many others that are much more comfortable. Diggin’ this more muted color palette tho

The 997H isn't comfortable, but the 997S is wicked comfortable. Maybe not AS much as the 998 or something but still all-day wearable. The 997H isn't uncomfy, just doesn't have as comfy midsole without Absorb + Encap in the S
