I actually think the Pink Collection doll would make a better choice for the Holiday Barbie. She’s got jewelry, a pretty gown, gloves, and a pretty hairstyle, and just overall better quality it looks like. Put her in the right holiday box and she’d be beautiful. I don’t know , I’m just not feeling the 2021 silver holiday doll. Her outfit looks cheap.

Yeah I totally see that!!! It would have been amazing to go on a totally different direction in terms of fashion and color for the holiday Barbie cause I think there’s only one in a pink dress so far from the 90s

The first diverse doll (the AA lingerie n. 5 Barbie doll) arrived after 2 years the BFMC line debuted. I don't think Mattel will wait 2 years to introduce more variegated dolls but it is easy to understand why they are moving slow after BFMC line was discontinued, they need to approach as many collectors as they can... and even if in social madial diversity is the most important thing, it's not the same while people are buying dolls, we should be honest, white Barbies still sell better than other... Collectors' community is a thing, the market is another, more big and without Social Media ideals. I do hope will have more diverse Silkstone dolls in the future! 💖

I totally agree and understand your views. Unfortunately people still buy (and sometimes prefer) a LOT of white blond dolls. And I totally understand that commercially is more “safe” to go that way, that’s why I prefer to wait and see where are they going with this line. Also I have faith that people who buy the dolls start to realize that Barbie is not only the blond bombshell, all of them are barbies and I think that is the direction that Mattel wants to go in the future. The other day I was in a toy shop and there was a guy looking at barbies. He was on the phone and said: oh there’s no barbies here, only her friends (because the store didn’t have any white blond one)! So there’s still a long way to go 😊

Whats wrong with Barbie being blonde and white? (Brown girl here). I am totally fine with it as long as all kinds of dolls are available in the market.

I was expecting for the pink collection a Latina Barbie because Mattel already released the white Barbie which I have so I wish more diversity with quality and made of Silkstone as well.
