new beginning | Solo to Alaska

Traveling alone to Alaska (from the East Coast) in my converted into a camper 2008 Subaru Forester XT Sports with manual transmission. During this solo roadtrip I will cross the US and head north through Canada on Alaska Highway all the way to Fairbanks/ Anchorage.

Was just up there last month. The Seward Highway is absolutely gorgeous. So is the town of Seward. Talkenna is definitely a quirky cool little place to hang out also! Safe travels 😎

I live in British Columbia Canada and have driven to Alaska many times once in my large motorhome. It is not problematic , and you will enjoy the drive immensely. You are smart to cross America to Washington as the fuel will be less expensive , then head up through the BC Rockies - Banff , Jasper then to Prince George and then there are 2 routes to the Yukon and Alaska. You seem to have great car knowledge so should be ok. All the best. Hell , looking thru your previous video list , you are extremely experienced , and don't need any or very little of my advice. Talkeetna is a fun town to visit in Alaska. I use some peppermint oil with water in a spray bottle sprayed around the engine compartment in my subaru to deter mice from setting up nests.
