Cute tank! Just don't forget some sort of a top for it so that the betta doesn't jump out. XD My first betta was a jumper & I remember coming home from school & finding what looked like a crumpled up tissue on the floor... it was my betta! XD I threw him back in the tank & I was sure he was dead, but the lil stinker wasn't! :D After that, I made sure to get something to cover my tank. XD

I have a question. I have a 10 gallon tank (fluvial spectrum as a substrate and some java moss is in the tank. I have a heater and sponge filter.) I have been keeping about 1.5 month old guppy fry in the tank (There is nine of them). I was wondering if I should get rid of some of them because the nitrates and nitrites are starting to rise. P.S. Anubis should be attached to something like driftwood or a rock. If you leave it in the substrate the roots will rot.

If you have a cover for the top of the aquarium, and a heater on the inside, keeping the water at the stable, correct temperature, the betta will be perfectly fine!

I think the size of the tank depends on the betta... I've had bettas in 10 gal tanks who were afraid and unsettled, so kept downsizing tanks until I found a size where they felt safe and comfortable.

i don't know what your thoughts are on buying a betta online, but that is usually what i do because the bettas are higher quality and live longer (i have actually tested that).i suggest bayareabettas he has a lot of nice fish for a very good price (i live on the east coast as well and i ship my fish with 1-day shipping because it might be too cold)

Add air stones to the sponge filters. This makes the bubbles smaller and makes the filter quieter. Mine are practically SILENT!Check out Aquarium Co-Op, they know how to do it. Dumbo half-moon and Koi plakats bettas are the way to go!

just a heads up , anubias is an epiphyte plant so it needs to stay on a rock or a wood ,, do not put it in soil or sand the rhizome will just rot and plant will die slowly, otherwise you did good
