Checking out the Bibury 19 in 1 Multitool. This multitool just came out in the last two weeks so I decided to test it out. More budget tools listed in the text description box, enjoy! :]

The new cutters on Leatherman are breaking, so that's making these Chinese multitools look better and better. My Rebar cutters broke cutting a 240V wire. I believe it was a 10 gauge solid core wire. I ended up having the climb down a 20 foot ladder to get a pair of cutters to finish my job.

I have very similar non-spring loaded pliers on one of my cheap Chinese backup multi tools, and don't find it to be an issue. The backup tool saved the day a while back when I was decommissioning some IT equipment, and one of the jaws on my Gerber Suspension snapped off. The backup came out and managed to free the rails of a disk array that had gotten stuck in place after several years, then I managed to find the broken part in the bottom of the rack. Gerber replaced the Suspension FoC though, so can't fault that.

Just got one from work for X- mas. I got the one without scissors, but has spring loaded pliers, can opener and an awl. All are really sharp. I found the wire cutter did better then my sidekick. I see they have a mini multi and they show the scissors cutting a Pepsi can. All tools are on a good value sale at this time.

I think that it's a good value with the discounts. Thanks for the code. My first sample had a cracked screwdriver socket. Amazon sent a replacement without a cracked socket. However, I think that the socket casting is still a bit thin at least compared to the one on my Multiforce. I like the lighter weight compared to the Multiforce. My Multiforce seems to have better handle alignment, however.

I'm glad they sent the replacement. I noticed the bit comes loose sometimes if I shake or drop the multitool, so maybe the socket area is indeed something they should tune up.

This is a FAR better Wave clone than the Multiforce, simply because the tool is designed in such a way that the pliers are much less likely to fail. The Multiforce is Guaranteed to fail, at the pliers, the first time you apply significant force. Awesome overview, as always, thanks!

I am always fascinated what different mechanisms and tool placements as well as shapes are being thought of in order to accomodate for the most within the smallest possible frame. Bibury will be around for a while, they are part of the new breed of brands, like Roxon, that are more educated and tech savvy and do things more in the western business model where their packaging is better, quality control is better, social media is engaged and their reps speak fluent English. Bibury is actually the town in the UK where their company HQ is.

Just bought one from Amazon......mine came with the handles totally misaligned and they wouldnt close properly. The main blade was so sharp it was unbelievable.....never had a blade that sharp straight from the box.I sent it back and bought a Leatherman Surge intead......i suppose i was unlucky but once bitten twice shy as they say.....if they can let a disaster like mine out of quality control i would always have doubts about the way they are put together.I'm glad in one respect as i now have probably the most durable multi tool on the market and one of the most adaptable.You get what you pay for.

I understand this is a year after this video was released. I started looking into replacements for my Leatherman Supertools after I came a hairs breath in loosing one of them permanently. It's a whole lot easier on the pocket book to replace a $40 multi-tool than a $100 one. Mine just arrived and the pouch now has a pocket up front that stores the bit driver tools. On the non spring loaded pliers, as a Leatherman user since they were first introduced this is a normal feature for me. If this tool passes my EDC use test I will be purchasing another one and putting it in the work tool kit, maybe adding a bit extender as you mentioned in your video.

Just got it today. Very so surprised it is a quite solid good tool. Quite sharp too. A good Leatherman Wave alternative if you want a cheap one. Color is silver and nice too. I always have loved Leatherman Wave,Charge TTI or Surge alike design. Maybe i want to buy the Multiforce Ozark after this. Also this Bibury is sold out in my country. Malaysia.

Interesting thing... I got one of these on Amazon Italy after seeing this video, and it came to me almost, but not completely, identical... The differences are: It has a pocket clip (on the side of the plain edge blade, would have been better if it was on the other side...), It's bolted in only one of the main screws but has a pin that prevents it to rotate, locking in a hole on the frame which is not present in the video specimen. It came with a little bit holder containing additional 3 double head bits, and the pouch has an elastic band on the front that holds it - not great the selection of the additional bit heads but hey... Did not expect both these things so they have been most welcome!

The current version of this Bibury on Amazon has two incredibly helpful upgrades: - Pocket clip - Small stretch pocket on the frontside of the sheath with three double sided 1/4" bits. With these updated features, I can't see how anything currently on the market can compete with this tool. Adding a 6x2mm magnet in the bit holder also makes it hold any standard 1/4" bit, and makes this arguably even more functional than a Leatherman Wave, and I would say even the Surge. Value for money 5/5

It also has a "secret awl", as the fixed part of the scissors can be used as such (hopefully without destroying it :D ) and... Well probably if they had made the terminal part of the file straight and sharpened at 45 or 30 degrees there would be a 20th tool ad a good little chivel

It's a great budget multi tool but I would've liked to have seen better use of the small tools area with the can opener of course that is fine but the micro screw driver and full size screw driver is useless as you have the bit driver, so an awl and other tools would've been more useful imo.

Yes. There are only so many ways to stamp out pieces of metal and screw them together, Leatherman does not have any mystical monopoly on how to bless theirs. The blade steels are the only big difference.

Chinese make for waht you pay. If western peaple asking crap, they produce crap. If you pay for top quality, Chinese make top quality. In fact, usa product like leatherman entry level tools are identical in quality to Chinese no-super cheap multitool. The ONLY COMPANY THAT IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL ON QUALITY IS VICTORINOX. China made multitool=mid/low quality and correct price USA made=mid/low quality and expensive price. Swiss made=high quality and expensive price. USA have fantastic marketing and warranty and service but historically don't have European culture of quality. (like say Ford vs Volkswagen, or dodge vs Lamborghini or Cadillac vs Mercedes etc etc..)

Bought one off Amazon and my experience is very different from this review. Knife edge? Blunt, asymmetrical... Can't cut paper. Wire cutters? Too much play, can't cut electrical wires as some strands and the plastic get stuck between the blades. Do you think I should try and get a replacement or get a surge?

i bought this multitool a month ago just on mine it says SQT mq21, identical to that. The only drawback is that the knife is difficult to activate with one hand ... the brake holds the knife too tight..I also paid $ 30 ... a little too much

@@WeAllJuggleKnives oh I see that now. I bought the Multiforce for $37 before tax, like $40 after, and it came with the bit extender & pocket clip, and sheath of course. But this one comes with the extra tool, micro driver.. but is noticeably more expensive, at base price. So I guess it will come down to if people really want that extra tool.. which I'm curious how they were able to do that, with virtually the same frames. I'm also curious about the diamond file. My diamond file, on the Multiforce, was disappointingly pretty crap, it wore off within the first use, I don't know if others are like that, I'm hoping mine was just a fluke, but I'm wondering if the Bibury one is any better. Lastly, a big complaint about the wave is how you can pinch your hand using the pliers, and so when they switched up the ends on the multi-force, kind of reversed it like you showed, a lot of people like that because it's somewhat took care of the pinching problem, so I'm also curious if this new iteration has a pinching problem or not, or perhaps potentially has one. I think Work Pro manufactures them both, looks like they switched around or mixed and matched a few things. I did ask Bibury about the similarity, they said "Although somewhat similar, our model was developed newly this year. Quality and convenience have been improved..." I feel like Work Pro went to Bibury and said "wanna buy our newest multiforce version?"

Yup! I told them that, and they did throw in some discount codes to make it the price around $37, but I think they should just make the regular price low, less complicated.

That's true, Rebar is great, I have one! Though, the Bibury tool almost always has a $15% or larger discount on the listing, so it is never really $60.
