The GSXR 1000 is always the best choice of any sport bike. For the price point it will compete with the bikes that cost a lot more and depending on rider skill, it will beat them all! The GSXR has always been my weapon of choice and I’ve owned just about every brand of liter bike out there over the years.

I only ride sport bikes. From panigale to cbrs, owned and rode them all. Gixxers are the most comfortable and most rideable sport bikes. It’s a great tourer, if your back allows, it’s a great street bike, doesn’t throws tantrums like the v4 or R1 at low speeds, and on the track it’s a killer. But to ride it on the track you might need to change the break and on the corners it’s not that flickable. But won’t exchange a gixxer for even an mv agusta. Wonderful bike.

@adam rudge I read something about that before but from what I’ve seen looking into the exhaust it looks like it’s just straight through. Maybe some catalytic process in the can though. I’m pretty sure the actual catalytic converter is at the end of the header pipes like on the zx6r, however the gsxr doesn’t appear to have a resonator chamber like the zx6r did, I think that may help explain why the can is so big, to make up for that.

The bike is nice . Had a 1994 gsxr1100. It was fun and fast. I was too young to really evaluate it. Then I ended up with a 2000 zx12 r Kawasaki. I tried a 2010 r1 Yamaha which was suppose to be all that . It was a disappointment compared to the 12r Kawasaki ten years older. Still have the Kawasaki which is surprisingly nimble and has big power. I’m curious if the new stuff is governed to 300kph or 186mph? The 2000 Kawasaki zx12r was unrestricted and Kawasaki claimed 209 mph out of the box. I never did that but a local kid did investigate and indeed he got the 209mph. My bike was more crisp and was not neglected like his . I’ve only been up to 150-160 but it had more for sure . Check out Chris Moore/Moore Mafia here on KZbin he’s got a lot of dyno videos where he talks about all of that. Only thing is, if your bike is a 2021, last I knew those ECU’s weren’t cracked yet and not flashable. If that is still the case a Power Commander may be the next best option. However a flash could make much more dramatic changes to performance.

why not the new 2021 zx10r??
@screennamenottaken23 жыл бұрын
I considered those a bit, never got to see one in person though. Nowhere anywhere near me had one in stock or knew when they would. I was iffy on a few things about them too. The GSXR can be flashed (not sure if they unlocked the zx10r ecu yet or not), has VVT and not quite as restricted in stock form from what I’ve gathered. I was already interested in the GSXR, then found out my local dealer had one on the way, and they almost never carry new 1000’s. No others around for 100 miles or more. No regrets.

Which one is faster of the two? I love bikes but I’m to much of a chicken shit to ride one 😑
@screennamenottaken23 жыл бұрын
The GSXR is faster, no contest (being that it’s a 1000cc and the zx6r is a 636). 0-60 they’re rated pretty close to 3 seconds but after that a 1000 will pull away. A lot more power on tap. Of course a lot depends on the riders skill level too. The zx6r is still a great bike though. I actually just got back from going for a ride on one then the other. Love both but as far as just power goes, GSXR 1000R all day 💪. When I took my beginners motorcycle course I hadn’t even rode a bicycle in probably 15 years or more. Best thing to do is take a beginners course near you. They use like 200-250cc bikes. Between that and practicing in a parking lot and/or practice on a dirt bike to get the basics down. It’s new and different at first but eventually you get better and more comfortable with it. Everyone’s gotta start somewhere. Definitely wear gear too.
@Rich21-913 жыл бұрын
@@screennamenottaken2 Sorry I thought I heard you say zx10 lol. Yea I’ll have a lot of catching up to do since I’ve never ridden a bike and I’m 28 years old. I’ll definitely look into a motorcycle course around my area. Proper gear would of made a lot of people on KZbin’s accident videos day a lot better for sure. Thanks for ur response👍🏻. Be safe out there
@screennamenottaken23 жыл бұрын
Oh, yeah a zx10r would be more neck and neck with the gsxr. I was 35 when I started riding motorcycles (I’m 39 now). Only ever briefly rode a dirt bike once prior to that, as far as motor bikes go. Used to ride wheelies and all of that back when I was young on my bicycle. Gear can definitely make a difference, especially good gear. Good luck!

I honestly hate how people my age are stupid on bikes, (20YO) , and I’ve been driving with a clean record since I was 17, and insurance on my 2016 zx636 is $491/mo, and it’s ALL because of my age . regardless if I have a clean record and no strikes on my license .
@screennamenottaken23 жыл бұрын
That’s crazy.. I can’t imagine what it would be on a 1000.
@Catch_me_if_you_can_6663 жыл бұрын
Holy shit...491 a month ??? I live in Belgium.No mather what age you are or what power the bike has...it costs around 200€ (220$)/YEAR to insure a bike.Doesn't matter if it's a 600 or a 1000cc, it doesn't matter if it has 100 or 200hp.It's a fixed price to insure a bike.Also age doesn't matter.Wether you're 21 and just got your license or you're 45 and have over 20 years experience.The price stays exactly the same
@Catch_me_if_you_can_6663 жыл бұрын
Kinda crazy...right ? Because for cars it's way different.For cars your age, horsepower and the number of years since your last accident are taken into account.A 21yr old that just got his driverslicense has to pay a lot to get an insurance.That costs about 1500-2000€/year for a slow 100hp car.But if you're 21 and got your license A1 to ride bikes without power limitations...it costs only 200€ a year for insurance. When you're 21 and you're going to drive a 100hp car on public roads...you're treated as a BIG RISK, like you're gonna hit every obstacle on the road.But on the other hand,age 21 you can buy a 200hp bike and go ride it for only 200€/year.NO PROBLEM AT ALL for insurance companies !!! Go figure...the law in my country works in mysterious ways

Northwest Ohio. I forgot to mention in the video I’m 39, so that probably helps some. Good driving record. State Farm rates.
@joshpham26083 жыл бұрын
@@screennamenottaken2 Strange I have state farm too but my agent told me they don't offer motorcycle insurance for some reason and I'm force to go with geigo that can give me the lowest rate possible for 129 a month on my 2020 Yamaha r1.
@screennamenottaken23 жыл бұрын
That’s odd.. Not sure where you’re located but they offer it here. I’d think they would everywhere though 🤷♂️

@@screennamenottaken2 state farm quote me 216 that is lowest they can give me on my 2020 r1 and I'm 33. I guess you lucky to have the lowest rate
@screennamenottaken23 жыл бұрын
@@joshpham2608 That is quite a difference. Aside from driving record I think location and closeness to bigger cities may affect rates as well, which I’m not too near one.

What tires you have on gsxr?
@screennamenottaken23 жыл бұрын
Just the stock. They’re the Bridgestone Battlax RS11’s. So far I’m happy with them. In the future when need new tires though I may look into getting the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3’s.

Definitely powerful 💪 For the exhaust I’m pretty much between the Austin Racing GP1R slip-on or a Brock’s Performance Alien Head 2 full exhaust. Leaning toward the Brock’s. Either way planning on getting an ECU flash, kinda necessary with the Brock’s.

When I did that video I had like 100 miles on the GSXR. Unfortunately where I’m at in northwest Ohio we don’t have many twisty roads. A few here and there but more long straights than anything. Left over salt dust on the garage floor also helped give the rear tires a bit of a stripe down the center when rolling them out. Either way I don’t drag knees though 🤷♂️

I think they did a better job with the exhaust can than they did on the 2017-2019 models, where the muffler literally just looked like a huge can. Either way it’s certainly big. Aftermarket exhaust coming in the future.

@johnadams30383 жыл бұрын
But why they make those ugly huge exhausts??
@screennamenottaken23 жыл бұрын
It’s all due to the noise and emissions people and regulators. They have to make them pass the strictest regulations anywhere in the world and then everyone is affected by it. It does seem like this stock exhaust is bigger than most though. I have a full exhaust on order. Where I’m at they don’t test for emissions and cops don’t seem to be bothered much by loud exhausts.
