Yeah had to sell my first K5, as I needed the money, 4 years later I got another, but it then got nicked.... Yup, the reason its so quick to drop in is as you say from your other vid, its got a 190 rear, which imho is totally unnecessary, I had my first K5 setup by an Ohlins suspension guy, and running Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres with rear stock size, I never had any issues on pissing down wet or dry roads. Personally anybody that says these wont stay with the modern batch of litre bikes or that you need something faster than a K5/K6 is talking b***** Just my opinion of course, wish I still had mine. Correct, 26000 is bugger all for a litre inline 4. I sold my 750 at 85,000km, and it was still going strong. Not sure which day you were there, but thats where i was playing on my husky the other day!

Dude, I'm jealous. I've looked for a K5 motor'd GSXR and even considered a new GSX-S1000F to get that K5 motor but in a new frame with nice new technology on it. Sorry if I missed an update but what happened with your MT-09?

+pipnmaz The MT-09 was a long story but basically I had ongoing issues with the cam chain tensioner and it went back to the dealer 3 times, never fixed. I ended up trading it back in for near new price after making a deal as I was fed up with taking the bike back / taking time off work. This was in the early days before the community came up with a fix for the cam chain issues. It was a great bike and I miss it but yeah early adopters always cop it.

+Brisbane Rob The GSXS is a nutta, I was close to buying one instead but it took forever for them to be added to insurance policies and they wanted stupid money to insure one. Basically the same motor as the old K5 with some refinements and they way underrated the power. Its more like 145hp at the wheel

+dry509 2005/2006 model (K5/K6) Idle is sorted now I am doing a new video atm with updates :)

so they're still a carb bike. probably why they ditched it for emission's. and that'd explain the better power curve.

+floydiangreen Na fuel injected, 2 sets of injectors just has the idle screw for cold and warm idle.

+floydiangreen Its fixed now, idle screws just needed to be turned up a bit. They work themselves out of adjustment over time. Knew what it was I just hadn't had time to lift the tank to fix it.

They're both the same exact bike. Different color schemes. That's it.
