Thank Dog for light colored bags that (a) don't cook the contents in harsh sun, and (b) make contents more visible. I also like the welded seams and lighter fabric. With so many bags on a bike, all the cordura and straps and buckles add up.

Definitely looking forward to the lengthier performance review of the North Street Micro Pannier! I have the Arkel Drylites which are designed only for rear rack use and may be in the market for a lightweight, front rack option like the North Street.

I ride a recumbent, most of the bags you cover, I cant use. 810 cubic inches per bag, with those small panniers.

For those of you who wish to debate the "fanny pack" vs. hip bag label, apparently there is some distinction beween types of waist-bound packs. Perhaps the version Russ reviewed might be more aptly described as a Lumbar Pack. Check it out: fannypackmaniac.com/fanny-packs-vs-lumbar-packs-vs-belt-bags/

Do you have any advice for backpacking bags that will work with a CX bike with top tube cable routing and shifters without under tape routing(sora 3500)?

I didn't get a chance to read through all the comments, but I am debating trying the apidura fork bags out next year. Any update? Are they worth getting over the other fork bags on the market?

One's hip and the other one is for nerds. Personally I think the Brits have it right, they're Bum Bags.

So you need a piece of equipment on your fork that you attach the fork bag to? Or does it attach directly to the fork?
@PathLessPedaledTV5 жыл бұрын
Attaches to fork cages like the Anything Cage.

I've been looking at the braap pack for a while thanks to you. I had a quick question, how comfortable is it since it doesn't have any padding in the back?
@PathLessPedaledTV3 жыл бұрын
Depends on what’s inside. I prefer less bulk from padding however.

Russ what is your opinion about the Topeak bag range? I like Topeak because I made good experience with their stuff and it is reasonable priced.

Do bikepackers not care about weight? As a hiker, it's certainly a major factor.

Sure. Some do. Is that a sideways way of asking how much they weigh?
